Biography[]
In "Grandpappy the Pirate", Mr. Krabs gets a letter from his Grandfather Redbeard Krabs who thinks that Mr. Krabs is a pirate and is going to visit him. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that he comes from an entire family of pirates. A flashback to when Mr. Krabs was a baby and was under the custody of his grandfather is then shown, and it's revealed that Grandpa Redbeard raised his grandson to become a pirate like him. It's then shown that Mr. Krabs did become a pirate like his grandfather wanted, however, he fired his pirate crew and quit because his crew took all the treasure. Mr. Krabs is then confronted by his grandfather, who is proud of his grandson for becoming a pirate, not knowing that he had just quit. Mr. Krabs tries to tell him the truth, but is unable to and ends up lying to him about being a pirate. Grandpa Redbeard tells his grandson that he'll be checking on his career to see how he progresses, and he also reminds him that the only rule in the Pirates Code of Honor is to never tell a lie.
After the flashback is done, Mr. Krabs has SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward pretend to be a pirate crew and turn the Krusty Krab into a pirate ship in order to trick his grandfather into thinking that he is a pirate. Grandpa Redbeard then shows up and tells his grandson that he was starting to think he was lying. Mr. Krabs then proceeds to trick his grandfather by pretending to sail the ship and having Squidward use cardboard cutouts to make it look like there are waves, Patrick blow water into the air for affect, and SpongeBob play a record to make it sound like there is wind. They then pretend to catch a kraken to trick him even further.
Grandpa Redbeard Krabs then sees what he thinks is a sea witch and has the crew go to their stations for battle. Mr. Krabs tells his grandfather to go get the sea witch, but then realizes that the sea witch is actually his daughter Pearl. Grandpa Redbeard tries to use a cannon to kill Pearl, but is stopped by Mr. Krabs. Grandpa Redbeard asks his grandson what he's doing. Mr. Krabs responds by saying he was checking to see if the Cannon was loaded, only for the cannon to then Collapse and reveal that it's made of paper-mache. After Mr. Krabs takes care of Pearl by shooing her away, Grandpa Redbeard breaks apart a cardboard wave and asks his grandson what kind of ship he's running. The two of them then hear the wind sounds from the record, and Mr. Krabs proceeds to remove the record from the record player, however, the record lands on Grandpa Redbeard's nose, and he gets so mad that he causes the record to explode.
Grandpa Redbeard then makes Mr. Krabs say that the pirate code is to never tell a lie. Mr. Krabs then admits that he has been lying to his grandfather the whole time, and proceeds to remove the crew's clothes and destroy the ship until the only thing remaining is the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs then admits to his grandfather that he is actually the boss of a restaurant. Grandpa Redbeard then reveals that he's still proud of his grandson, stating that scamming people with high prices is real piracy. Grandpa Redbeard then steals some of his grandson's money and leaves. Mr. Krabs chuckles and states that he knew he got his talent from somewhere.
In "Lame and Fortune", he attends Mr. Krabs' funeral during a dream sequence.
In "Whale Watching", he can be seen on one of the paintings in Mr. Krabs' house.
In "Senior Discount", he makes an appearance as one of the relatives that Mr. Krabs summons against Old Man Jenkins and his family.
