Regalla's Rebels are the secondary antagonists of the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West.

It is an Tenakth offshoot composed of Regalla's Tenakth followers, who were disillusioned by Hekarro's call for peace with their archenemies, the Carja, and would stop at nothing to incite a rebellion against the main Tenakth clans.

They later allied with Asera, the leader of the Sons of Prometheus, who would supply machine overrides to bolster her army and attack The Memorial Grove for the throne.

However, this motivation is mostly driven by Sylens, who used Regalla's hate towards the Carja, in order to unify all three clans and use them as unwitting pawns to invade the Far Zenith base. But the Nora Huntress would soon frustrate the rebel's plans, effectively leading to their downfall.

History[]

Not all the Tenakth, after the Red Raids were permanently abolished by the 14th Sun-King of the Carja, Avad, were willing to accept forgiveness for the atrocities that Jiran had committed. Regalla, one of Hekarro's former marshals from the Desert Clan, would treat Hekarro's offer for peace as a traitorous action against the tribe.

This led to Regalla later challenging Hekkaro in a duel, to which she lost against him. However, instead of being killed, Regalla would later be spared by Hekarro, his gravest mistake.

Foundation[]

Sometime after the Battle of the Alight, Regalla would later meet up with Asera's rebel Oseram faction, the Sons of Prometheus, where she would be given an offer that she could not refuse.

Due to Asera also having the same hatred against the Carja, she and Regalla would later forge alliances with her rebel faction: to invade the Carja Sundom, usurp Hekarro's position as the Chief, and later assault the Far Zenith base. However, unbeknown to her and her Rebels, this attack on the Zenith base would serve as a mere distraction for Sylens to escape Earth and board the Odyssey for his selfish reasons.

Trivia[]

  • Regalla's Rebels are similar to the Eclipse in the previous game Zero Dawn, being that both are non-tribal factions who are a splintered faction of their respective tribes. Both factions are created by Sylens and its leaders (Regalla and Helis) are manipulated by him, who has a true agenda of his own. Both factions also have a strikingly similar agenda of planning to take over the capital cities of their respective tribes in their attempts to depose the main tribe's leaders. The difference is that Regalla's Rebels are a misguided group of Tenakth tribals who became disillusioned with Hekarro's peace offerings with the Carja, while the Eclipse are violent cultists who only savour in murdering anyone for their goals of hostile takeover and are fanatically devoted towards the deceased leader Jiran.
