Rei Shimizu is one of the antagonists in Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer serving as the main antagonist in Chapter 2.
Biography[]
She was introduced as a suspect in the murder of Hana Niyama who was killed in the Ongō Hospital. While investigating the crime scene Misaki noticed the murder weapon was a scalpel in the victim leading to them suspect that the murderer is a doctor. Rei was then interviewed by Misaki and Takumi Hijirihara in the hospital staff but Takumi couldn't even say anything before falling in love with Rei by first sight causing him to faint.
When Takumi woke up he found that he was on a stretcher and Misaki told him that Rei was interviewed when he fainted and that she didn't seem a suspect, when Rei came back, she noticed that Takumi wasn't there, leading to her seaching for him on the hospital to treat him. When Rei found Takumi inside an archive room he was reading Hana's surgical history in the documents before Rei asked if she was an acquaintance of his. Mekuru then uses her skill Drowsing Deduction to identify who the killer is and was at the abandoned institution that was 50 meters away from the hospital. Takumi was informed about it but he decided to go where Rei was to, cause he was in love with her, with a love letter.
When Takumi confesses his feeling about her, he also reveals that he knows that she is the killer, causing her to flee from the building leading Takumi to chase her through the forest. After catching up to Rei he reveals that he knows that one year ago she planted parasites inside Hana's body during a surgical procedure that was recently harvested leading to her death and was about to do the same to the other patient until Takumi interrupted her.
She ends up saying that he is right, saying that she did it for her beloved parasites, showing that she was growing some parasites inside her body too, leading to the parasites being formed into a gigantic version of it after leaving her body. It then attempts to kill Takumi but he killed it with his knife which also leads to Rei's death. After leaving the scene Takumi decides to erase all documents related it Rei from the Special Case Criminal Investigation Unit's database and practically everything about her, leading to practically make her not exist at all.
