Reiko Kashima is a major antagonist in the manga series Dandadan, serving as one of the main antagonists of the Space Globalists arc alongside the Kur.
Reiko is a yokai known as the Slit-Mouthed Woman, and one of the most powerful yokai Momo has encountered in the series so far. After Momo Ayase and Bamora best her in their first encounter she vows to kill Momo when she gets the chance,
Appearance[]
Reiko Kashima is incredibly tall, towering over any human , she is also visibly muscular, she sports long black hair which is kept in a bow .Her most striking feature is her face, which due to the extreme ammounts of make-up she uses looks ghastly in appearance, with mascara that heavily accents her round eyes and glossy lipstick covering her lips, which form an incredibly wide mouth with multiple rows of sharp teeth.
Reiko is often seen wearing a dress with a big bow in the chest. While pursuing Momo Ayase her appearance changed , with her dress gaining puffy sleeves, a larger bow, and her hair becomes more unruly whuly maintaining her ponytail, her eyes gain multiple circles and her dress shoes become black.
When she doesn't have her makeup her appearance changes completely,her head shape and facial features becoming less pronounced, becoming incredibly beautiful as noted by Momo and JIji, however she can still turn her teeth sharp and gain more circles around her eyes in this form.
Personality[]
As a human Reiko was shown to be a happy young lady, with a man that she loved, however the loss of her lover due to war and her own death turned her into a spirit who's vengeance can never be quelled, as stated by her.
Reiko Kashima as a yokai is incredibly vain and narcissistic, obsessed with her image and she enjoys caputring people she deems "ugly" in her mirror just to make herself look better in comparison (though ironically her horrifying appearance is apparently "make up" and the result of her making herself up to her own twisted version beauty while her true appearance is that of a conventionaly attractive woman) and hates when her victims block her reflection or try to look "cute" inside of it. She is also sadistic, constantly harassing Momo and using the voices of her friends to trick her into becoming her victim, and showing glee when she manages to catch Momo in the middle of the conflict with the Kur.
She does have redeeming qualities, most notably when she destroys the Kur fleet in a rage because their vicious unwinnable assault on the planet reminded her of how she was a victim of a similar war (likely WW2) while seeing Momo and Okurun desprately try to save each other against certain death reminded her of the similar love she felt towards her deceased lover.
Currently Reiko seems to be interested in finding love of her own, after witnessing Momo and Okarun's relationship through her mirror, and she is also annoyed with Ayase's incapability with confesing her own feelings towards Okarun, warning her that if she doesn't confess to him, she will steal him from her.
Powers and Abilities[]
Reiko Kashima is an extremely powerful yokai, being capable of not only resisting several blow from Bamora in her Kaiju suit but also overpowering her and Momo multiple times with her raw strength. She can also summon a small hand mirror that she uses not only to check on herself at all times but also as a weapon.
Her main ability is the power to manipulate the reflections around her, teleporting her limbs thorugh mirrors and any shard of glass around her to throw surprise attacks at her enemies. She can also use multiple reflective surfaces at once to increase the size of her attacks, as shown by her increasing the size of her attack to gigantic proportions to destroy the Kur's space ships.
Reiko also has the ability to posess anyone who looks at their own reflection, however this ablity can be nullified by covering the mirror through which Reiko posessed her victim. She can also mimic the voice of anyone she likes, and can use her mirror to watch over Momo at all times.
Her most dangerous Ability is the power to trap anyone in her mirror dimension by showing them their reflection in her mirror, this dimension cannot be escaped unless Reiko releases them. She can also attack anyone inside of her mirror dimension.
