Greetings to you, my fellow Canthans. Before I begin, let me say that I am immensely proud to be able to stand here before you. From here, I look out and see all of your faces, bright and eager. You are the future of our great empire. Yours are the hands that lay the foundation for all who follow to walk upon, and yours are the hearts that will foster our bravery and spirit.
~ Reiko to Canthan humans.
There is no stopping my vision! The seed is sown, and the sheep are ready for their shepherd. Strike me down and I simply become a martyr. Another will take my place. Cantha shall be purified yet!
~ Reiko to Miku and Hero of Tyria.
I think you've said quite enough. So what if he has furthered my ambition? The people need hope. They need a symbol to rally to. I gave them hope, and I gave them the will to fight. What have you offered them? You are just outsiders, meddling in the affairs of Cantha. You're just another problem for the Ministry of Purity to solve.
~ Reiko about Ashu to Miku and Hero of Tyria.

Reiko Murakami is an antagonist in Guild Wars during "Winds of Change".

Biography[]

In 1073 AE, Reiko, then a member of the Ministry of Flame, one of the many Canthan ministries, started rallying the people of Cantha to fight back against the Afflicted, gaining public support with the help of her nephew, Ashu Yuudachi. As the publicity of Reiko and her words grew, she began to rise in the ranks of the Ministry of Flame. Soon after, Reiko started becoming disatisfied with the actions of the ministry, and formed a conclusion that something greater needed to happen if Cantha was ever going to be able to move forward. In 1077 AE, Reiko officially established the Ministry of Purity, with her nephew as the main public figure. The Ministry of Purity started dealing with things that other minitries had turned blind eyes to.

Few years later the ministry started their campaign against the Afflicted plague, and subsequently against the street gangs and other members of the society labelled as traitors, starting their own social reform with Reiko in front. n 1080 AE, Reiko was assassinated by Miku Yuudachi, an older sister of Ashu, whom she proclaimed as dead at the start of her campaign, and the Hero of Tyria. Miku believed to be saving her brother, however, Ashu had became already too brainwashed by Reiko and took the control of the Ministry of Purity as Reiko's successor.

Appearance[]

Reiko Murakami was a slim Canthan woman with short black hair adorned with a crown-like decoration. Her pale face was covered in heavy makeup with red lipstick. She usually wore a white uniform of the Ministry of Purity, with blue and golden motifs and ornaments. Her fighting weapon was a platinum staff.
