Reireichu are a telepathic species of worms capable of possessing machines and antagonists in episode 23 of Tokusou Robo Janperson.
History[]
The Reireichu were cultivated by Reiko Ayanokouji and set loose to possess machinery throughout the city. The Reireichu began inhabiting robots and using their powers to take control of them and force them to go on rampages. A single Reireichu possessed Gun Gibson and forced him to fight Janperson. However, the heat from an explosion expelled it from Gun Gibson's body, leading it to take control of Janperson and force him to attack Gun Gibson
As this was happening, a robot that had been possessed by a Reireichu was taken into Kaoru Saegusa's lab for testing. Kaoru discovered the Reireichu inside, but the Reireichu went loose in Kaoru's laboratory. However, Kaoru quickly discovered the Reireichu's weakness to heat and contacted Janperson about it.
After the Reireichu possessed Gun Gibson again, Janperson used his flamethrower on him to kill the Reireichu. The adult Reireichu's death triggered a telepathic backlashed that caused the larval Reireichu inside the SS-N lab, who were telepathically linked to it, to instantly die from the shock.
