Renee Frodgers is the main antagonist of the Amphibia episode "A Caravan Named Desire". She is a thief and a play director who uses her plays as distractions while she and her men rob the town blind.
She is voiced by Susan Egan.
Biography[]
She makes her appearance in "A Caravan Named Desire" where she saves the Plantars from some sandworms in the desert. She lets the Plantars travel with her acting troupe across the desert. Hop Pop asks to join her troupe, which she agrees on. For days, the Plantars and Renee travel from town to town showing their plays until one day, Hop Pop goes to talk with Renee about a new play idea, during which he finds her and her men talking about something. Renee reveals to Hop Pop that she and her men are thieves who travel from town to town putting on plays for people as a distraction while they rob them. She states that she does this because nobody cares about theater and they were barely scraping by, so she has to steal money in order to keep her troupe alive and successful. At first, Hop Pop is against it, but he decides to keep quiet about it so he could fulfill his dreams.
When they arrive at the next town, Hop Pop stars in their play while watching Renee and her men rob the town. However, Hop Pop decides to give up his dream and reveal the robbery to the town. A chase occurs through the desert on the wagons until a giant sandworm knocks Renee out. Renee and her men are then captured and arrested, and the money was recovered.
Trivia[]
- With the exception of her two henchman, it was never explained if the rest of her theater troupe were involved with her plan to rob towns, or if they were completely unaware of this.
