Buddy is the gang's leader in the book and film. He is described as having dark greasy hair and "little eyes set to close together" Like Jack Merridew he seems to have a short temper as having "blazing eyes" when seen by Mr Casey. And this leads to his downfall. After driving back from a baseball game he is chased by Christine and killed by her too. In the film he is played by William Ostrander and is killed by Christine after she runs over him leaving his flaming corpse in the road.
Richie Trelawney acts as Buddy's "right hand man" and supposedly is his best friend as he always remains close to him. He has having curly brown hair similar to that of John Deacon. He stands next to Buddy at a rugby game and travels with him home on both occasions. In the book he is killed in a car crash along with his friend Bobby Stanton. Don Vandenberg is the tallest one of Buddy's friends. He is mentioned as being 19-20 years old in the book. He is probably the most quiet of the gang in the movie as he says nothing throughout the film except one line "Is that Cunningham?" In the novel he has much more to say and is the last of Buddy's gang to die. In the film he is played by Stuart Charno and is killed in the explosion of the gas station along with another gang member: Richie Trelawney
