Resh is a minor antagonist in the 2017 video game Horizon Zero Dawn. He is one of the Nora Braves, who works as the instructor of the coming-of-age event known as the Proving, and later the Interim War-Chief of the Nora tribe. However, he would intentionally sabotage this event exclusively towards the to-be Nora Brave Aloy, due to her being a Nora outcast. To do this, he would aid and abet with Bast, but this plan alone later failed, when Aloy won the Proving.
Resh is voiced by Harry Myers.
Personality[]
Resh is known to be severely bigoted towards Nora outcasts, including Aloy, which is a trait heavily influenced by Lansra, one of the Nora's High Matriarchs. His bigotry is so severe, that he goes so far in mocking the now-dead Bast and Vala, who sacrificed themselves during the Eclipse's attack in the Proving, disgusting Aloy to the core.
He is also known to be arrogant and defiant, going against the War-Chief Sona's wishes to set up defenses in the Mother's Watch during the attack of the Corrupted Machines.
Background[]
The Proving[]
Resh would later be in-charge of the Proving with the soon-to-be Nora Braves. Knowing that Aloy, a Nora Outcast, is one of the participants, Resh would later secretly aid and abet with Bast by destroying Aloy's Grazer Trophy. But his plan, however, immediately failed, when Aloy prevailed in the Proving, but not after an attack by the Eclipse, later led by its leader Helis, costed several participants' lives, including Bast and Vala.
Interim War-Chief[]
After the horrific attack, Resh would later act as the interim War-Chief of the Nora, due to the disappearance of the War-Chief Sona and her War Party. Much to his disgust, Resh would later see an approaching Aloy, now a Seeker, coldly rebuffing her and telling her that Bast and Vala were no mere heroes who sacrificed during the Proving Massacre.
