~ Professor Bug |
Rex Robot is a major antagonist from the two-part The Backyardigans special "Robot Rampage". He is Professor Bug’s henchman and the most powerful robot in Mega City.
He is voiced by Evan Matthew Weinstein, who also voiced Troy Miller in Bully.
Biography[]
Rex Robot’s technological origins are unknown, as with the rest of Mega City’s robots. However, it can be assumed that Rex specifically was built by Professor Bug himself, considering how much bigger and more intimidating he is to fit with Bug's regiment. After the professor seized Mega City, he commanded Rex to find the last robot that hadn’t been bugged, Robot Roscoe, Repairman Austin's robot.
He isn’t seen again until the final scene, where the good guys are fighting the bad guys for the remote. Naturally, Rex is the good guys’ main opposition, because of his size and speed. He attempts to throw several of them off the 20-story-high ledge and strangle or maul Austin before he is shut down (presumably permanently) with Bug's remote.

Trivia[]
- He is one of the three villains from The Backyardigans to not be played by anyone, and is completely imaginary. The others are the Blarg from The Big Dipper Diner and the Not-So-Nice Dragon from his titular episode.
