Ribbon is a major antagonist in No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. Known as Ribbon of Destruction, she's the newest and youngest general of Bridan, created by Queen TegaJune to expand the Bridan's forces and grant Bouquet's wish of having a little sister. An error during her generation process resulted in Ribbon being born with a monstrous appearance.
Ribbon is voiced by Mariya Ise.
Biography[]
TegaJune creates Ribbon when Bouquet requests from her to expand Bridan's number and counter the Gozyugers and the Abyssal Calamity Cladis. During her generating process, TegaJune's eyes briefly turn blue, resulting in Ribbon of Destruction being born as a dinosaur-like monster. Despite that, the Bridans welcome her with open arms, especially Bouquet, who always wanted to have a little sister.
Following her creation, Ribbon starts wandering around the human world, looking for lovely things and branding them with her Love Marks. During her battles with the Gozyugers, her true agenda is revealed: Ribbon wishes to take over Bridan for herself, and doesn't care about her comrades or even Bouquet.
Ribbon's selfish quest of finding the loveliest thing would culminate during the Gozyugers' battle with Obakeyashiki No.1, who turned the city into a haunted town. After convincing the No.1 Monster to start attacking the people visiting his haunted house, the Gozyugers, led by Rikuo, turn it into an attraction and foil his plan. Disappointed that her ideal haunted house was ruined, Ribbon boards her Ribbon Ayayser and starts destroying the buildings around her. Rikuo summons TegaSword Blue and destroys the Ayayser, forcing Ribbon out of it as its escape hatch was destroyed in his attacks.
Ribbon is sent flying and lands somewhere, and Bouquet finds her pixelating out of existence. When Bouquet tries to revive her, Ribbon realizes how much her sister cares for her. She has a change of heart and gives Bouquet a Special Love Mark before disappearing. Her death, combined with Bouquet finding out that her beloved idol Rikuo was the one responsible for it, drives Bouquet into changing her name into Bouquet of Destruction and swearing to have her revenge on Rikuo.
Personality[]
On the outside, Ribbon has a personality befitting a newly-born child: She's cute, curious and always on the lookout for lovely things. However, these traits obscure Ribbon's selfish and spoiled desires of taking over Bridan and finding the loveliest thing, even if it comes at other's expense. She also took Bouquet's love for her for granted until her final moments, when she saw her sister's love for her and realized it's the loveliest thing she could've ever asked for.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Super Strenght: True to her name, Ribbon and strong and durable, and was able to corner the Gozyugers with her strength.
- Dinosaur Bite: Ribbon's Dinosaur tail has a mouth in its edge. She can use it to bite her opponents.
- Energy Tentacles: Ribbon can generate three energy tentacles from the back of her head.
Arsenal[]
- Love Mark: Ribbon leaves these ribbons on things she finds lovely. In her dying moments, she gives Bouquet a larger one named Special Love Mark.
- Love Scissors: Ribbon carries large scissors, which can be split and wielded as two large knives.
- Little Prison: A small box given to Ribbon by Queen TegaJune. Inside it is a prison in which she traps the Gozyugers, Kuon and Koyo Iwao/DekaRed.
- Ayayser: The first Dress Guard piloted by Ribbon. It's equipped with a Big Ribbon that can bind her opponents.
- Ribbon Ayayser: The second Dress Guard piloted by Ribbon. In addition to an upgraded Big Ribbon, it's equipped with a larger pair of Ribbon's Love Scissors.
Trivia[]
- Excluding the one-shot No. 1 Monsters and gold-headed Ais', Ribbon has the fewest episode appearances of the Bridan, only being alive for four episodes.
