Ricardo Terror is an antagonist from the manga series Choujin X. He and his partner Ririka Umezawa were hired by Noh Mask to kidnap Tokio Kurohara.
Appearance[]
Befitting his powers as a dread choujin, Ricardo's face is multi-eyed and has tentacles protruding from his mouth. Other than that, however, his appearance seems to be largely humanoid.
Personality[]
Despite what his appearance and job as a mercenary would suggest, Ricardo is actually a pretty friendly and upbeat guy. He makes an active effort to keep in touch with his human side, and as such puts time aside for his hobbies. He enjoys eating fast food and watching baseball, and also enjoys using his appearance to pull pranks on fearful onlookers. Although he is still a career criminal who killed everyone in his past criminal organization, Ricardo does seem to treat civilians with a lot more respect than his partner does, such as when he ordered a pizza for Tokio after he and Umezawa kidnapped him and later expressed some sympathy for Azuma Higashi after he was seemingly killed by Umezawa.
Biography[]
Ricardo was originally a bodyguard for the Tagokoro Group, a yakuza organization, and was hired to serve as a bodyguard for the young leader. After some unspecified event, Ricardo ended up betraying the organization and killed all the other members. He eventually found himself working with his friend and current partner-in-crime Ririka Umezawa.
At some point, Ricardo and Umezawa were contacted by Noh Mask for a job. They were to stalk and kidnap Tokio Kurohara and deliver him to Noh Mask, although neither of them were fully informed as to why. Eventually, Umezawa jumped Tokio and his friend Ely Otta in public, kidnapping Tokio in the process. Umezawa then brought Tokio back to their hideout, using her powers to turn him into paper and fold him up.
While they waited to bring Tokio to Noh Mask, Umezawa waited outside while Ricardo kept watch over Tokio. Realizing that the kid was hungry, Ricardo ordered a pizza for him, but Tokio refused to eat. Eventually Ricardo began to pass the time by putting on a sitcom. Outside, however, Tokio's friend Azuma Higashi confronted Umezawa to rescue his friend. Azuma, not having any powers of his own, didn't stand a chance against Umezawa and she sliced the teenager into pieces. Ricardo, detecting that Umezawa was pissed off, ran outside to try to de-escalate the situation, leaving Tokio unmonitored in the process. Tokio used the chance to break free using full beastification and escaped from the mercenaries' hideout.
Ricardo arrived outside, witnessing Umezawa standing before Azuma's mutilated corpse. Ricardo expressed some dismay that the kid had died in such a brutal manner. Just then, Tokio saw Azuma's body while sneaking away. The shock of seeing his friend die in such a brutal manner caused Tokio to fly into a blind rage, attacking Umezawa with such fury that the assassin was unable to put him down. Eventually, Ricardo used his powers to manifest Tokio's fears, in this case being a distorted replica of Azuma's body, causing the boy to fall unconscious from the shock.
Just then, Ricardo and Umezawa were intercepted by Ely Otta, Simon Kurohara, and Maiko Momoma, three keepers from Yamato Mori. Just as they began to fight, however, Azuma's body began to raise itself. In truth, Azuma Higashi was an unawakened choujin, and Umezawa killing him forced the boy into chaos state. Azuma, now acting on chaotic blind instinct, kicked Ricardo's head clean off his body and them brutally maimed Umezawa by kicking through her torso. The two of them survived due to being choujin, but Azuma's chaos state was so dangerous that Ricardo was forced to flee with Umezawa while Azuma was distracted fighting Yamato Mori.
Afterward, the two of them are seen talking to Noh Mask about the failed mission. Umezawa expressd a desire to take revenge on Azuma for humiliating her. Noh Mask says she and Ricardo will get their chance, but only after Umezawa's recovered.
Following the timeskip, Ricardo and Umezawa have once again found work with Noh Mask. Following Tokio's, Ely's, and Azuma's fight against (and subsequent rescue of) a chaosified Palma, Umezawa sends paper birds into her lab to destroy the leftover samples of the Xember drug. Afterward, Ricardo and Umezawa are seen looking over the money they received for the job. Ricardo questions Umezawa if she trusts their employer, to which Umezawa responds that they don't need to trust to do a job.
