Biography
Hitman: Contracts
Delahunt is mentioned in the mission Hunter & Hunted as being the former Governor of Massachussets, a candidate in a presidential primary, and the current ambassador to Vatican City from the United States. He is already deceased by the time of the mission, along with D'Alvade (mentioned as "Philippe Berceuse"). 47 is ambushed by the Paris Police Department, led by Albert Fournier, who too was listed as a target in the contract. However, 47 fully completes the contract by killing Fournier, before fleeing Paris to an undisclosed location.
Hitman: Blood Money
Agent 47 is instructed to kill Delahunt and D'Alvade in the briefing for Curtains Down, set in March 17, 2004. In this scenario, it is set in an opera house hours before the events of Hunter & Hunted from Hitman: Contracts. Delahunt maintains status as ambassador to the Vatican and is now mentioned as being involved in child prostitution. However, Fournier makes no presence, nor is he ever mentioned. Delahunt is shown watching D'Alvade's rehearsal performances from a private box, with numerous security professionals. 47 successfully assassinates the duo, before leaving the opera house. However, 47 is shot and critically wounded by a police officer led by Fournier, where 47 goes semi-conscious and remembers many past contract killings.
47 can kill Alvaro D'Alvade with a prop gun switched with a real gun, and then kill Delahunt by detonating a bomb, causing a chandelier to drop upon him.
Appearance
Delahunt is a 57 year-old man with short brown hair, circular glasses, and a blue suit with no tie. He has a goatee in Hitman: Blood Money. In Hitman: Contracts, he is only seen via photo, with a suit and tie and a large moustache. He does not have his glasses.
Trivia
- Delahunt is often considered to be among the most evil of targets in the series.
- Delahunt is most likely Catholic as all U.S. ambassadors to the Vatican have been Catholic.
- If 47 closely approaches Delahunt, he will cower in fear and recognize him as "the clone".
