Rick, better known as Rick the Door Technician, is a minor antagonist in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a sequel to the 2019 game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Biography[]
During Cal Kestis's journey through an Imperial post on the planet Koboh, he encountered Rick in a corridor. Upon Rick noticing Cal, he pulls out an electro baton as he charges at him, vocally challenging Cal to a fight. His goal was to kill the Jedi, in order to get promoted by his superiors. However, Rick ends up paying the price, as he is easily killed after just one lightsaber strike from Cal, ending his life.
Trivia[]
- Despite having a boss health bar and even a custom name, he goes down as fast as regular scout troopers in the game, thus giving the impression Rick isn't really a boss and is just a normal scout trooper with an actual name.
- Rick has become somewhat popular due to his name and status as a "boss", with some jokingly dubbing him the hardest boss in the game.
- As shown in dialogue Rick was hoping to kill Cal in order to become promoted.
- It is actually possible to skip Rick during his fight, meaning he isn't actually required to be killed, adding on to him not really being a boss.
- Rick can be seen as the Imperial parallel to FN-2199 from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, due to both being Stormtroopers that tried fighting lightsaber wielders (Cal Kestis and Finn respectively). However, unlike the latter, Rick went down easily and didn't put up a fight whereas 2199 put up a good fight. Additionally, unlike 2199, Rick is a scout trooper while 2199 is a regular stormtrooper.
- Rick’s voice is provided by Yuri Lowenthal.
