Ricky's Killer is the secondary antagonist in the crime film Boyz N The Hood directed by John Singleton. He is played by the late actor Lloyd Avery II.

Biography

Ricky's killer first appeared onscreen when he was sitting in the backseat of Ferris (Boyz n the Hood) red Hyundai vehicle pulling up to Tre Styles, intimidating him with a shotgun before they quickly drive away leaving Tre scared.

Halfway through the film, Ricky's killer is hanging out with Ferris and his gang who disrespectfully bumps into Ricky Baker from behind who's mistakenly wearing gang colors. Ricky's brother Darrin "Doughboy" Baker defends Ricky from the confrontation until brandishing his pistol at Ferris, Ricky's killer and the gang. Ferris later shoots his Uzi in the air, making all the party-goers scared who are seen running away on foot and driving away in getaway vehicles.

Later on, Ferris, Ricky's killer and another guy tracks down Ricky who are still angered by him talking "shit" the other night. As a defining moment occurs, Ricky Baker is shot and murdered in cold blood by Ricky's Killer in a drive-by shooting before they quickly drive away before Doughboy shows up to his brother murdered in broad daylight. Thus, leaving Ricky's mother break down in tears blaming her son Doughboy for Ricky's death.

Doughboy, Tre, Monster and Dookie are on the search to get revenge for Ricky. Tre tells Doughboy to drop him off, knowing that revenge won't bring Ricky back returning back home. Doughboy finds the perpetrators who murdered Ricky, hanging out at a burger stand. They see Doughboy's car as it drives past, making all three of the suspects, cowardly running away just as they all get caught up in a drive-by shooting. Doughboy hops out of the car, running to the crime scene as he finishes off Ricky's Killer with a gunshot to the back of his head, avenging Ricky's death and later aims a gun at Ferris who's begging for his life. Ferris taunts Doughboy one last time finishing him off, Doughboy later drives away from the murder scene alongside his cohorts just before the cops come.

Trivia

Lloyd Avery II (the actor who played Ricky's Killer) was murdered in real life as a result of his conviction.
Although he is the secondary antagonist, he only has one spoken dialogue in the film.
