Personality[]

As criminals, Rig and Charlie tend to be very violent, mean, brutal, sadistic, sociopathic, psychopathic, psychotic, ruthless, merciless, bloodthirsty, insane, selfish, cruel, aggressive, intimidating, temperamental, remorseless, senseless, and trigger-happy.

However, Rig proves to be somewhat calmer and more intelligent as shown when he tells Charlie not to shoot T. Paul in a hotel where people can hear the noise. Despite his reputation, Rig makes it a rule never to shoot an unarmed rival no matter what as he reveals that it's not really his style during his final showdown with T. Paul and Nick.

Biography[]

For years, Davis "Rig" Lanlow and Charles "Charlie" Dunt have been wanted in the state of Arizona for armed robbery and homicide. Eventually, they are blamed for a gas station robbery, which was actually carried out by Terrence Paul "T-Paul" Davidson, a bumbling thief and Nicholas "Nick" Beam, an advertising executive on the edge of a nervous breakdown.

One night, Rig and Charlie carry out their usual set of robberies starting at another gas station. Later, Rig and Charlie argue over classical opera music the latter is listening to on the radio until they finally spot T-Paul and Nick whom they mistake for another criminal duo. So, Rig and Charlie follow them before coming out to confront them after ramming them with their car. Rig and Charlie hold Nick and T. Paul at gunpoint as they explain how not too fond they are of having any competition on their turf since they believe they own the rights to all violent crimes on their turf and don't take kindly to any unauthorized criminal activities. After Rig shoots Nick's car to get their attention, Charlie proceeds to violently abuse both T. Paul and Nick whom he steals a fancy case from. Realizing how fancy Nick's case looks, Rig demands the latter's wallet now, only to find himself unexpectedly confronted by Nick before T. Paul snatches two of the former's guns and holds him at gunpoint while asking Charlie to drop his own gun just as the former are about to kill them. As Rig and Charlie are being told to back off, T. Paul accidentally shoots Nick in the arm with one of the guns. After all 4 men argue, Rig and Charlie are left stranded and unarmed after T. Paul shoots one of their car tires and drives off with Nick in the latter's car to safety.

Angered by this humiliation, Rig and Charlie vow vengeance on the duo. After carjacking a Brit's car, Rig and Charlie head straight for Los Angeles; thanks to the business card Rig finds inside Nick's case. The next day, Rig and Charlie hang out at a stripper club as Rig burns Nick's card as a sign of anger and retaliation once he finds and kills both him and his friend. At night, as they drive by looking for their targets, they finally spot Nick's car parked next to his company where both Nick and T. Paul are carrying out a robbery as payback for Nick's boss, Philip's alleged affair with his wife, Ann earlier.

After the robbery, Rig and Charlie follow them to the hotel they are staying at for the night. However, rather than kill them with guns due to fear of making too much noise and seeing as to how their targets did an outstanding job once they find their room, Rig and Charlie prefer to place T. Paul in a trap since Nick is unavailable before taking the money all for themselves instead, barely missing Nick on the way out.

As they celebrate their success with the stolen money in the car, Rig and Charlie suddenly find themselves rammed and chased on the road by Nick and T. Paul despite Charlie's best attempts to shoot them before T. Paul shoots one of their car tires, which forces them to crash into a pole in an alley. During a final standoff, Rig is disarmed after Nick shoots him in the hand and both he and Charlie are left tied up until they are finally found, caught, and arrested by the police who plan to take them back to Arizona to await trial for their crimes while T. Paul and Nick return the stolen money before it's too late due to a misunderstanding cleared up concerning the "affair" despite certain difficulties on the way.

Trivia[]
