Riga is an executive of the Space Mafia and a major antagonist in Blue SWAT.
He is one of the leaders of the Space Mafia's invasion of Earth and is typically seen alongside his partner Yanimi. Alongside Zodor, he reports directly to Jisp.
He is portrayed by Nobuyuki Nakai.
Biography[]
Riga first appears when he meets with his fellow Space Mafia executives - Zodor, Yanimi and an unnamed alien possessing a female host, to discuss the current state of the Earth invasion over a game of pool. As a criminal operation being conducted by a Bona had recently been uncovered by Blue SWAT, the four executives decided to eliminate the Bona before it could reveal anything and sent a Goa to carry out the task. The Goa succeeded in executing the Bona, but was killed soon after by Blue SWAT.
Riga and Yanimi would later visit a hospital, where they met with the Earth invasion's chief commander Jisp. Jisp gave the two of them directions to eliminate Blue SWAT before they could continue interfering with their plans.
For one of his schemes, Riga attempted to film a series of video advertisements to attract more aliens to visit Earth. He used a red Bona as an actor in the commercials and persuaded a human cameramen to help film. After filming several, Riga used a special device to broadcast them into outer space. Among the aliens who saw the commercials was the Death Killers, an infamous group of mercenaries, who promptly set a course for Earth. However, Blue SWAT intercepted one of the commercials and filmed their own video advert to counter it, depicting Earth as a hostile and barren world full of natural disasters. After Blue SWAT stole Riga's space satellite and used it to broadcast the video, Riga received word that the Death Killers had turned away from Earth after seeing Blue SWAT's advertisement, leading him to exit the scene in his car, while leaving the Bona behind to hold off Blue SWAT.
Riga, along with Zodor, was later assigned by Jisp to infect people with the virus that would incapacitate them and bring them to a secret base once they fell ill. Blue SWAT soon began investigating, leading Jisp, Zodor and Riga to confront them and drive them away. Sumire was able to locate Jisp's hideout, but was spotted by Riga and soon captured herself. Jisp used Sumire to lure Blue SWAT out to an abandoned factory, where he, Zodor and Riga faced them once more. While Zodor and Riga took on Show and Sarah, Sig went up to Jisp and demanded he leave Zaji's body. However, Jisp faked being Zaji to get Sig to lower his guard before striking him and knocking him to the ground. Jisp and his two subordinates then trapped the three Blue SWAT officers inside the factory and set it to explode, before escaping with Sumire in a large truck. As Zodor was driving them away, Jisp had Riga inject Sumire with a sample of the virus to incapacitate her as well.
However, Blue SWAT was able to escape before the bomb exploded and later located Jisp's base. While Show and Sig confronted Jisp, Sarah and Seiji went to rescue the hostages. Sarah fought against Zodor and Riga to buy time for Seiji to switch off Jisp's computer and free the hostages from the pods they were placed in. At the same time, Jisp faced off against Show and Sig, but held a knife to Zaji's throat to force them to lay down their weapons, to which the two reluctantly complied. Jisp then exited Zaji's body again and fought both of them, beating them down once more. However, while Show and Sig battled Jisp, Sarah was able to hold off Zodor and Riga long enough for Seiji to free the hostages and revert the virus. Sarah then ambushed Jisp and bought time for Show and Sig to reclaim their weapons. However, Zodor and Riga then intervened as well and shot at the Blue SWAT members to hold them off as Jisp returned to Zaji's body and exited the scene with his two subordinates.
Riga and Zodor later joined Jisp when he began plotting his coup against Queen using a mind control pheromone. After Seiji nullified the pheromone's effects, both Riga and Zodor exited their hosts to battle Blue SWAT and were promptly slain by Blue SWAT using katanas.
