~ Mio, speaking through Rin to Isamu. |
Rin (凛) and Mio Tsushima (美桜 対馬) are supporting antagonists in Jealousy's Book in the 2021 Roblox horror-game The Mimic.
They were once orphaned sisters who were in poverty that would try to save up for food. One day, the older sister Rin devoured Mio believing that she was having food without her, only to be cursed and become an amalgamation of themselves.
Biography[]
The Mimic[]
Jealousy's Book[]
After Isamu wakes up in The Sister's Minka, he finds an old scroll which tells the story of "The Two Sisters".
The story talks about that long ago, two orphaned sisters, Rin and Mio, were in poverty and were starving from the lack of food and money. One day, Rin noticed that Mio joyfully came to Rin who would become suspicious of the former's happiness. Rin then assumed that Mio was eating well without her and was consumed by jealousy. In a fit of rage, Rin killed her own sister and devoured her. However, she soon found out that the reason why Mio was joyful was due to her secretly saving up money for the both of them to share. This led to Rin being guilty of this which deteriorated her physical and mental health. Suddenly, a mouth appeared in the back of Rin's head. That mouth belonged to Mio, who was aching in pain from the lack of food.
After Isamu finishes reading the story, he accidentally summons them, causing them to chase them around the Minka. After Isamu poisons some rats and tricks the creature into eating, it angers Mio, who then proceeds to chase after Isamu one last time. After this, Isamu escapes and makes his way to Nure's Zone.
Trivia[]
- The cutscene depicting the pair's origins is notably censored in the actual game, removing the graphic depictions of Rin consuming her sister with the blood still running down her mouth during her transformation.
- Rin's design was inspired by the famous Yokai named Futakuchi-Onna, which means "Two-Mouthed Woman."
- Many people think Rin is the one speaking, but it's actually Mio speaking in third person and mimicking her older sister's voice to trick Isamu.
- Rin doesn't actually have a jaw anymore, meaning that she is actually fully incapable of speech.
- Mio used to say "Upsetted" in the last dialogue. However, now she says "Upset" instead due to grammatical errors.
- Rin's old chase theme was exactly the same chase theme but with the original pitch, which was higher.
- Their surname was revealed to be Tsushima (対馬), meaning "opposite horse".
