Ring-A-Ding is a major antagonist in the 2024 indie platform action game, ANTONBLAST.
He is a minion of Satan who was tasked to defeat Anton and Annie, and is the third major boss in the game. (seventh overall including the Bossbusters)
He is voiced by Jenna Kathleen, who also voices Dynamite Annie in the same game.
Appearance[]
Ring-A-Ding is a rusty grand bell. He has cyan-colored eyes, sharp teeth, and a blue uvula.
In his final form, Ring-A-Ding's body has split into two with a yellow substance and a single eye now seen. He has six legs and wings alongside that.
Biography[]
After clearing the eighth, ninth, and tenth levels and defeating Smallbuster and Maulbuster, Ring-A-Ding's boss gate will appear, allowing Anton/Annie to enter it. Once in the fight, Anton/Annie notice a massive bell hanging, and decide to hit it. This awakens Ring-A-Ding who then attacks them in retribution of what they just did to him. In his fight, Ring-A-Ding will summon a variety of minions to attack Anton/Annie, while he targets the hero and attempts to slam down on them. He can also latch his uvula onto the floor, which allows the Anton/Annie to damage him.
After completing the first phase, Ring-A-Ding will grow enraged and starts to absorb all the nearby Biffs, harvesting their powers, before zapping Anton/Annie. Although he laughs at first about supposedly defeating them, Anton/Annie comes back in their angel form, causing him to quickly levitate to the skies out of fear. In his second phase, Anton/Annie chase after Ring-A-Ding into outer space, eventually attacking him from the inside out and crashing back down to Earth intact.
Entering the third phase, Ring-A-Ding's corpse has split in half, and emerges as a eldritch monster. Anton/Annie must knock his minions back at him while he uses a new set of attacks with them, alongside the chance that he would drop a grand bell on the hero. After depleting all of his health, Ring-A-Ding now grasping the moon, launches it at Anton/Annie, who strike it back at him, and ending his boss fight.
In the final boss fight against Satan, the demon will call for Ring-A-Ding, alongside Freako Dragon and Jewel Ghoul to dispose of Anton/Annie. However, he slowly dangles down due to his battle with Anton/Annie severely injuring him, and is easily defeated. As soon as the Bossbusters crash their blimp into Satan's lair, Ring-A-Ding is presumably killed in their explosion.
Trivia[]
- Like all of ANTONBLAST’s bosses (sans Satan), Ring-A-Ding represents one of the Seven Deadly Sins. In this case, he represents Gluttony as he attempts to attack using his uvula and eventually consumes all the Biffs to grow more powerful.
- Thanks to his true form resembling a seraphim, it’s speculated that Ring-A-Ding is a fallen angel that allied himself with Satan.
