~ Ring-Ring in "Little Miss Sooga".
|
Ring-Ring is the secondary antagonist in the TV series Pucca. She is a jealous, rude, and rich girl who considers herself as Pucca's rival. She is also Dong King's daughter, and she herself is the goddess of the wind and source of the yang curse. When someone makes her angry, her other personality becomes dominant.
She was voiced by Tabitha St. Germain in Seasons 1 & 2, and was voiced by Karen Strassman in Pucca: Love Recipe.
Appearance[]
Ring Ring sports bright blue hair with a unique zigzag hairline and a heart-shaped bun perched atop her head. Her eyes are slanted and dark-colored, complemented by pink makeup. She has been noted for her perfectly symmetrical head shape.
Her most common attire consists of a pink dress that is accompanied by pink boots and gloves, which has become her distinctive style.
Yang Form[]
Ring Ring is a stunning figure with cascading, vibrant blue hair that falls elegantly down her back. She is adorned in a luxurious red opera gown, embellished with intricate details, and wears a majestic headdress crown that complements her regal appearance. Her complexion takes on a blush of red, enhancing her beauty, and she sports unique "skull horn markings" on her face, adding a touch of mystery to her captivating presence.
Personality[]
Ring Ring is an absolutely stunning young lady who possesses an unfortunate tendency to feel envious and desires to flaunt her achievements at any given opportunity.
Ring Ring frequently finds herself becoming easily angered, causing her to frequently unleash her powers. Unfortunately, it is her deranged and jealous side that tends to have a stronger influence on her actions rather than her good side. To combat this, she has developed a coping mechanism of chanting her "I'm too perfect to be angry" mantra, which serves as a way to calm herself down and prevent her from succumbing to a frenzied emotional rampage whenever she experiences frustration. Occasionally, Ring Ring may display moments of kindness towards Pucca, but more often than not, these acts turn out to be merely a facade for her underlying evil intentions.
Throughout certain episodes, there have been instances where she has displayed emotions of remorse or melancholy towards her own actions.
Biography[]
One interesting aspect of Ring-Ring's character is her romantic interests. In the episode "Ching It On," it is revealed that she harbors a crush on Abyo due to his immense popularity. However, in other episodes, she has also dated Dada when he was transformed into a handsome hunk by Mister Dishy. In "Little Miss Sooga," Ring-Ring attempts to showcase her talents to win Garu's attention in a beauty pageant. She desperately hopes to receive a perfect score to prove that she is worthy of Garu's affections, rather than Pucca. Overall, Ring-Ring is a multifaceted character who captivates audiences with her operatic abilities, struggles with jealousy and romantic entanglements, and is always accompanied by her faithful companion, Yuni. Ring-Ring is a captivating opera singer who mesmerizes audiences with her powerful voice, all while donning a traditional Chinese robe. This talented songstress is not only a prominent figure in the background of the show, but she also shares a complicated relationship with Ching. Sometimes, they engage in playful activities together, but Ring-Ring's envy often overcomes her. Adding to her character's depth, Ring-Ring is accompanied by a loyal Shih-Tzu named Yuni. This adorable pup dutifully obeys Ring-Ring's every command and eagerly seeks her attention whenever there is something important to bring to her notice. In "Ching It On," Ring-Ring showcases her less admirable qualities. She refuses to allow Ching to join her cheerleading squad simply because she dislikes her. This is mainly fueled by the fact that Ching is Pucca's best friend and also has a fondness for Abyo.
In the episode titled "Chef-Napped," the cunning and sly Ring Ring hatched a devious plan to deceive not just one, but a multitude of characters including Dada, the Vagabonds, Muji, and Tobe. Her evil scheme involved luring and manipulating these individuals into stealing the highly esteemed and renowned noodle chefs from all corners of the world, even including Pucca's beloved uncles. The ultimate goal behind this elaborate plot was to ensure that these talented chefs would be exclusively at Ring Ring's disposal, cooking solely for her pleasure and satisfaction. Furthermore, it becomes evident that Ring Ring possesses a particular fondness for the charismatic and charming Dada. She takes every opportunity to praise his exceptional skills and abilities, emphasizing to Pucca that her own boyfriend, the formidable Garu, simply cannot match up to Dada's extraordinary talents on a regular basis. This revelation not only adds an intriguing twist to the storyline but also serves to heighten the tension and rivalry between the characters, igniting a fiery competition for culinary supremacy.
Powers and Abilities[]
Ring Ring is widely regarded as one of the strongest characters in the series, second only to Pucca herself. She possesses the unique ability to go head-to-head with Pucca in combat, consistently proving herself to be a formidable adversary by overpowering her on numerous occasions.
In her regular state, she possesses limited abilities, but when she transforms into her Yang form, she gains extraordinary powers. Her lengthy hair and flowing sleeves act as tentacles, allowing her to effortlessly grasp objects within their reach. Additionally, her piercing high-pitched voice emits powerful sonic booms capable of uprooting trees. She can manipulate and extend her hair and dress sleeves, soar through the air, unleash a fierce lion-like roar, and unleash a deafening scream that can decimate a significant portion of the town.
She adorns herself in a stunning red gown adorned with a regal crown, and peculiar "skull horns" protrude from her face. In the story "It's a Ring Ring Thing," the Yang Ring-Ring is separated from the typical Ring-Ring through the use of hypnosis, only to be reunited later on.
Yang Ring-Ring[]
In the episode "It's a Ring Ring Thing," the character Ring Ring undergoes a separation from her neurotypical side, known as the Yang Ring-Ring, through the use of hypnosis. However, they are eventually reunited. Throughout the show, there are instances where Ring Ring is able to willingly relinquish control to her Yang side, although her abilities are slightly diminished. To keep herself calm and prevent herself from succumbing to fits of intense anger, Ring Ring often recites a mantra reminding herself of her perfection. This serves as a way to avoid going on a chaotic emotional rampage when she feels frustrated. On occasion, Ring Ring appears to be kind to Pucca, but it is later revealed that she has ulterior motives and a sinister plan in mind.
