“ | I want to hate him, Jack. I want to hurt him. He broke my heart. But I will not be some long-suffering wife who stands by her man in front of the cameras and is dissected while he grovels for forgiveness. I will not be that woman. I won't be humiliated. | „ |

Overview[]
Rita is the wife of Donald Shalvoy, the popular Governor of New York, with whom she has two sons. While they have a public image as a happy couple, theirs is in fact a loveless union that they preserve to further their own political ambitions - his for run for President, hers to run for New York State Senate.
