Roberto Guerrero is a major antagonist in the Filipino prime time series FPJ's Batang Quiapo, serving as one of the two main antagonists in the third arc, alongside with Miguelito Guerrero.

He is the son of Gustavo Guerrero, who became his successor as the Mayor of Manila and the next leader of their crime family. He is also one of the business partners of Ramon Montenegro whom he shares their personal dislikes to each other despite of their close family associations.

He is portrayed by Albert Martinez, who also played Tomas Tuazon in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Samuel Alejandro in Juan dela Cruz.

Background[]

Past[]

Born to Gustavo Guerrero and Pilar Guerrero, throughout his life he was always favored by his father to be his successor rather than his elder half-sister, Olivia Guerrero causing them to have rivalry throughout their lives. Later on, Gustavo organized him a marriage to Jackie his mistress obligating him to be the father-figure of his half-brother and later had a daughter named Erika. Gustavo eventually retired as a Mayor of Manila, and later continued his father’s footsteps.

With the Montenegros' partnership, he was tasked to help Ramon Montenegro to bail him out in prison but failed to pursue his job for the Montenegros due to his personal dislike to Ramon, causing the latter to hold grudge to him.

Revelation and Political Arc[]

Years later, still in the position as a Mayor Gen. Rivas pleaded him to clear Ramon Montenegro’s name after having an intense duel with Rigor Dimaguiba in San Dimas. One day, he meets the Benito family, a group of petty criminals after Fatima pretends to be bumped by his car making him offer a sufficient donation for the Benitos. Despite of their shared dislikes with Ramon, he joined in a party organized by the Montenegros to introduce Tanggol as the Montenegros long-lost child who was raised in San Dimas.

Olivia who’s desperate to take the position as the next Mayor of Manila (after she was rejected by her then-stepfather Don Gustavo Guerrero) hired assassins to shoot him during a political speech within a job fair in the Manila City Hall. After the failed assassination attempt by then-unknown assassins (which was later revealed by NLEA Police Col. Romero that the assassins were personally hired by Olivia to assassinate Roberto), Roberto was rescued by Rigor, making him to reinstate the latter in the position after Rigor was previously terminated of his job as an NLEA policeman for injuring and beating up NLEA police Gen. Augustus Pacheco, much to NLEA police Col. Romero's displeasure and disapproval.

One day, Roberto, Miguelito, Don Gustavo, and their forces meets with the Montenegros again in a pier and introduces them to an East Asian businessman Mr. Arthur Kwoon and his daughter, Veronica Kwoon to make deals with their drug business. Surprisingly, NADCOM raids the pier after someone anonymously tipped that there was a drug transaction in the pier. He exchanges assault with Ramon after the latter falsely believes that he was the one responsible for setting them up in the transaction and with Ramon Montenegro accusing Manila mayor Roberto Guerrero of betrayal. As the two parties points guns to each other in a near confrontation, they were both pacified by Don Julio and Don Gustavo. He later faces the NADCOM and persuades them that he has business with NLEA police Col. Romero, but NADCOM continues raiding the pier, causing him, Miguelito Guerrero and Don Gustavo to be fully exposed that the Guerreros were involved in the drug dealing with the Montenegros, given the presence of the Press.

Despite of the drug scandal, he was able to clear their names by using NLEA to participate in various drug bust operations. He joins Miguelito in his filing of candidacy in NEC surrounded by their supporters. He then lets NLEA arrest Tanggol for beating up his son Miguelito after the latter had horribly insulted the former in a speech. Upon Tanggol’s arrest, he and Miguelito bribes NLEA police col. Romero of ordering the Quiapo prison inmates to seriously beat up and severely injure Tanggol, much to Don Julio's disgust and anger upon knowing of the commotion by Don Julio's close confidante Franco. Roberto learns that Miguelito and his goons had opened fire in the Quiapo police station that led to several civilian causalities, after David fails to shoot Tanggol causing him to be horribly beaten up by Miguelito and forcing David to point a gun to his lawyer, atty. Vera Saldivar for his cowardice failure and recklessness.

The day both rival clans have their motorcade throughout Manila, he was seen with the Guerreros and the moment they faces off with the Montenegros, he was seen pacifying Miguelito, but the latter became adamant of firing against Tanggol and his associates that led to several causalities on both rival parties and on several innocent civilians that participated in the motorcade. During the intense shootout, he managed to escape from the Montenegros goons with Jackie.

One night, Lucio informs her and attempted to extort money from him in exchange for his daughter Erika. He eventually traced the Red Phoenix’s hideout with the help of the authorities (through Roberto's NCLEA police chief and police col. Romero) and even discovered that the aforementioned Lucio and the Red Phoenix group were responsible for the spreading and distribution of drugs within several nightclub and bar establishments in the entire city of Manila (particularly with the drug product known as Red Chaser that have originated from Hong Kong within its former leader of the Red Phoenix group "Angkong" Harrison Cheng, whom the latter was later killed by Lucio after conspiring to betray the latter by assassinating Cheng during a transaction with his business partners, with the aid of the reluctant Santino), and threatened Lucio but the latter threatened him that Red Phoenix will be after him. Roberto then spared Lucio and decided to form an alliance with Lucio, the Tondo Gang and the Red Phoenix group, in order to use him for his plans to assassinate Tanggol and the Montenegros. On the day of election, he the Red Phoenix sabotaged the electoral machine to cheat and rig Tanggol Montenegro’s leading vote, but not before intimidating, murdering and eliminating several teachers that are serving as electoral officers and several NCLEA policemen (that were patrolling and guarding the electoral votes within the voting precincts), which also terrorized innocent civilians that were present within the incident, in the process; allowing Roberto and Miguelito to be elected as Vice Mayor of Manila and the Mayor of Manila, respectively; and, much to the severe protests, condemnations, lambastes, and widespread anger of the ordinary Manileño public and constituents (particularly Tanggol's grandmother, Matilde "Tindeng" Asuncion, alongside with Tanggol's allies in the examples of Rodolfo "Roda" Alcantara, ex-Brgy. Capt. of San Dimas and the newly elected-Cong. Leo Mojica, and Alfredo Pangan who are demanding a recount of the electoral votes of the position of Mayor of Manila in the recently-concluded mayoral elections), of which the ordinary Manileño public and constituents are heavily accusing the newly-elected Manila Vice Mayor Roberto and the newly-elected Manila Mayor Miguelito and the Guerreros of a massive voter fraud, voter thievery and an electoral sabotage within the recently-concluded mayoral elections. Upon being elected as the Vice Mayor of Manila, the Guerreros continued to hold tight of their power involved in graft and corruption in Manila.

Personality[]

He is introduced to be a stereotypical corrupt official, depicting to be charismatic and manipulative individual as he acts a clean-hearted individual who is dedicated to commit his job seriously by showing to the public that he is compassionate man but actually a front for his true nature to be a corrupt official who is involved in illegal activities such as embezzlement, conspiracy, and dealings of illegal products.

He is very loyal to his family, as he proved himself that he should be the successor of Gustavo Guerrero to his position to be the Mayor of Manila. He also loved his wife and children especially to Miguelito whom he sees to be fit as his successor after he retires as a Mayor of Manila, as well as his support to his father’s personal decision that Miguelito is more fit to be his successor rather than his elder sister and Vice Mayor Olivia. However, he has also shown that he is also defiant to his father’s personal decision such as their partnership with the Montenegros whom he wants to sever ties of the latter family to work independently without the aid of the Montenegros.

It was also revealed that he is queer which he personally kept it as a secret, involved him having affairs with multiple men and lack of love to his wife Jackie due to that they were forcefully married to each other thanks to Gustavo for them to hide their family’s immoralities in the public. However after Divina stimulated him by stating his true sexuality, he became sexually aroused to her thanks to her seduction.
