Biography[]
During the Clone Wars, Robonino was an associate of known Trandoshan bounty hunter, Bossk, sometime during an unknown period of time during the war, when their ship fell apart and was destroyed, but they survived and were found by the Black Hole Pirates. The two joined the pirates and Robonino fit in well with the team and worked well with them while Bossk found himself alienated and an outcast amongst the pirate gang. Robonino was later found by Cad Bane and was convinced to join his gang and took part in a mission alongside Aurra Sing and Shahan Alama to capture the bounty hunter Davtokk.
Later, Robonino was part of a group of bounty hunters that took the entire Senate hostage to force them into freeing the criminal Ziro the Hutt. He was a pivotal part of lead bounty hunter Cad Bane's plan, as he sent the entire building into lockdown and trapped the senators inside by sabotaging the building's power core. When Anakin Skywalker went to confront the bounty hunters, Robonino—with Sing's help—managed to stun the Jedi into unconsciousness after retreating into the electrical room. Later, with Ziro released from custody, he left with the rest of the group.
Afterwards, Robonino, along with Chata Hyoki, was hired by Count Dooku to intimidate various senators to try to stop a vote on a Senate bill enhancing the Republic's military spending. Dooku later instructed them to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala. Following an intense chase through the Coruscant traffic and upon reaching the Senate Building, the two bounty hunters both failed to stop Padmé. The next morning, Robonino and Hyoki instead decided to attack Senator Bail Organa in the Senate Building's parking garage, making one last attempt to hinder Padmé's allies' effort at stopping the bill. While they were able to injure Organa, the two thugs were subsequently arrested for their crimes.
Personality[]
Robonino is a slippery and cunning mercenary whose proficiency at hacking makes him a dangerous foe when he sabotaged the Senate building's electrical system to aid Cad Bane in his plan to free Ziro the Hutt by holding the entire building hostage. In spite of his size, he proves to be ruthless and deceptive opponent who has no fear of confronting Jedi like Anakin Skywalker, such as pretending to hide in the electrical room before ambushing him, successfully knocking him unconscious with nothing but his stun rod.
Despite being a bounty hunter, who is primarily motivated by monetary gain like many others—with no direct allegiance to either side of the Clone Wars, Robonino had no qualms with assaulting or attempting to assassinate Republic politicians, especially on behalf of his client Count Dooku, thus indirectly helping the Separatists' war effort.
Trivia[]
- His bio in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Character Encyclopedia says, "Judge Robonino by his size and you'll soon regret it!".
