The Robotic Blacksmiths, also known as Henchbots, are supporting antagonists in Blue Sky's second animated feature film Robots. They are Madame Gasket and Phineas T. Ratchet's henchmen.
Biography
As their name suggests, they are a group of robotic workers who work at the Chop Shop by collecting scrap metal as well as outmoded robots and turning them into upgrades. They first make their appearance working at the Chop Shop and Gasket gives them a brief amount of break time, much to the workers' dismay.
Later, when an outmode named Fender gets captured by a Sweeper, which takes him to the Chop Shop. When Fender falls onto one of the conveyor belts, some of the workers come across Fender and they try to kill him. Fender flees, but gets caught in a spring and is left dangling on the edge. He then witnesses Ratchet introducing Gasket to an upgraded and much more destructive version of the Sweeper. When they find Fender eavesdropping on their conversation, they approach him and Fender flies toward a chopping machine, though he manages to escape the Chop Shop and warn his friends about Gasket's plan.
When Ratchet tries to capture Bigweld, a chase ensues between Ratchet and Rodney's allies, but upon arriving at the Chop Shop, Bigweld ends up accidentally rolling into the factory. When Gasket prepares to finish off Bigweld, Rodney and the Rusties come to his aid and Gasket rallies her workers and Super Sweepers to finish them off. However, a large army of allies led by Piper comes to their aid and a battle ensues. The Rusties and their allies manage to defeat the henchbots, while Rodney manages to free Bigweld. When Ratchet and his Sweepers try to finish off the Rusties, Rodney comes up with a plan to stop the upgraded Sweepers by knocking them down with a giant gear. Gasket is defeated by Wonderbot and she explodes in an incinerator, while Ratchet gets stripped of his upgrades as he ends up being chained next to his father.
It is unknown what happened to the henchbots afterwards, though it's possible that most of them died in the battle while others were arrested.
