NOTE: This character is from deleted scene in the episode "Burns' Heir," which is not canon.
The late Robotic Richard Simmons is the mechanical servant of Mr. Burns in The Simpsons.
It was voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
History[]
In the episode Burns' Heir, Homer Simpson goes to get his son Bart from his boss Mr. Burns after Burns attempted to use Bart as his intended heir. When Homer asks Burns if he'll just release the hounds on him like he normally does, Burns, instead, appoints Smithers to release a robotic version of the actor Richard Simmons unto Homer. The robotic version of Simmons then sings the song "Shake Your Booty" to Homer, and Homer runs away out of fear. The robot rebels against Burns, however, and Smithers shoots the robot in the face. The robot's artificial skin reforms over his shot eye as a reference to the T-1000 from Terminator 2, and goes haywire. Burns, Smithers, and Bart then run into the house, and the robot explodes.
Trivia[]
- Richard Simmons was slated to guest star in the episode but declined once it came to his attention that he would play a robot in the show. The scene was later deleted when it caused mixed responses from the test audience. The scene was later shown in the episode, "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular".
