Rocco's death

Rocco is killed when his own bomb explodes on board his plane

Rocco is a mad bomber and assassin and one of the two most feared criminals in the world (the other being Papshmir, who appeared in the first Naked Gun film). Despite having been arrested and imprisoned, Rocco is hired by Papshmir to orchestrate a large terrorist attack to bring the U.S.A. to their knees.

When news of this reaches Police Squad, the now retired Lieutenant Frank Drebin is sent into action once again to try and discover the whereabouts of Rocco's next bombing. He visits Rocco in prison while posing as an inmate and gains his trust, and eventually the two of them escape.

Rocco introduces Drebin to his sadistic mother and girlfriend Tanya and even makes Drebin hold his own wife, Jane Spencer, hostage (believing she is simply an innocent bystander).

Rocco and Drebin later travel to the Academy Awards, where Drebin discovers is the location of Rocco's terrorist attack, but Rocco's mother blows his cover. Drebin and Frank escape and manage to find the location of the bomb (hidden in one of the envelopes that are read out during the awards ceremony.

But Rocco and his mother confront them on stage with the intention of detonating it. Rocco's mother is soon killed and Drebin manages to catapult Rocco through the ceiling while he's still holding the bomb, sending him flying into the sky before crashing through the toilet of Papshmir's airborne plane. As the pair stare at each other in bewilderment, the bomb finally detonates and destroys the plane.
