Rochelle is a minor antagonist of Megamind Rules!, serving as the main antagonist of the episode Roach Hard: With a Vengeance.
Rochelle was a normal roach who was lured to Megamind's lair by Keiko Morita's crumbs and Ol' Chum sprayed her with a Intelligence Booster, turning her into a super genius.
Rochelle devised an evil plan to use the spray to create an army of super-evil intelligent roaches to dominate humans and control Metro City and the world. But their plan was ruined by Megamind, Chum and Keiko and Rochelle was banished along with her army to the depths of space, saving the world from her tyranny.
She is voiced by Lucie Pohl.
Biography[]
Rochelle was a common roach who was lured along with many other roaches to Megamind's lair by Keiko Morita's garbage. Ol' Chum complains that Keiko leaves trash everywhere while she complains that their order system doesn't make sense, during an internet broadcast, Megamind notices that there are roaches and becomes irrationally scared (but he denies being scared), Megamind locks himself in his titanium-reinforced "I Never Panic Room" and he tells Chum and Keiko to get rid of the roaches.
Chum and Keiko go to look for the roach repellent, they start arguing since each one has their own way of doing things and Keiko realizes that Chum may be jealous of her since she and Megamind spend a lot of time having fun, they reach the closet where the spray cans are kept, Chum grabs one that says "Intelligence Booster" believing it to be the roach repellent and sprays a roach, the roach becomes intelligent and leaves with an evil laugh.
In the "I Never Panic Room", Megamind tries to calm down and tells himself that he's protected by the door (which is designed so that not even Behemoth can enter), but then Megamind hears the voice of a woman with a German accent who tells him "Why break in when you can just walk under?", then the cockroach enters the room and reveals herself, to Megamind's horror. Megamind tells Chum and Keiko that the roach is in the room and she's talking, the roach tells her that Chum sprayed her with the Intelligence Booster and she became a super genius, like Megamind. Megamind screams in terror, begs the roach to stay away and calls it "Hideous Creature", the roach thinks it's a good name, but tells him to call it "Rochelle".
Megamind gets scared and tells Rochelle to stay away, Rochelle tells him that she is used to people finding her repulsive, but she senses unbridled fear in him, she asks him to tell her where his fear comes from, Megamind refuses and declares that his childhood stories are his own, Rochelle realizes that his fear comes from childhood, Megamind complains for saying that and tells her to get out of his giant blue head. Megamind asks her what she wants and Rochelle tells him that for too long roaches have been at the very bottom of the food chain, treated like the disgusting refuse they had to eat and then she exclaims "We want revenge!", Megamind asks her if she doesn't mean "revonge" and Rochelle tells him it is "revenge", adding that she just learned the human language that day and asks how she speaks it better than him.
Megamind tells her that she is just "A little, totally not scary bug" and asks her what kind of evil plan could her "tiny brain" hatch up, then Rochelle tells him that she plans to use his spray to create an army of super-evil intelligent roaches to dominate humans and control Metro City and the world, Megamind admits that's a pretty airtight evil plan and sees no flaws in it.
Rochelle tells Chum and Keiko that she has taken control of the lair and orders them to give her the Intelligence Booster while Megamind waves at them to tell them not to do it, Keiko asks her what will happen if they refuse and Rochelle tells them that then she will do the backstroke in Megamind's favorite coffee mug, to which Keiko tells her that they will buy him a new mug. Chum tells her to stop playing with Megamind's life and Keiko tells her that she is buying time until they know what to do. Rochelle tells them that if that is not enough, she will take off her exoskeleton and leave it in Megamind's shoe, to which Chum tells her that they will buy him a new foot (confusing Keiko because the lack of sense). Rochelle tells them that if they don't give her the spray, she will scurry on Megamind's blue face, Megamind collapses in panic and tells them to give her the spray immediately, Chum proceeds to do so but Keiko stops him and she tells him that it's the fear talking. Keiko tells Chum that they can't let Rochelle send an army of tiny bug villains to the world, Chum tells her that Megamind is his world and that Rochelle will leave him traumatized, Keiko grabs the can and they both start fighting over the can. Rochelle decides to make things more difficult for them and she uses her antennae to communicate with her roaches, she tell them to unite and that go for the can. Megamind and Rochelle observe the situation and Rochelle tells Megamind that he's too scared to lift a pinky to save his friends, to which Megamind asks her not to drag his pinky in that and tells her that it's been through so much already.
Keiko and Chum finally agree on what to do and try to think of how to destroy the spray can, knowing that they have to atomize it and then they come up with the idea of using the particle collider. Rochelle sends her roaches after Chum and Keiko and the duo confronts the insects. Meanwhile, Megamind falls to the ground and Rochelle tells Megamind that his two companions have proven to be most troublesome and that that is trouble for him, Megamind gets scared and asks her what she will do to him, Rochelle tells him to calm down and slaps him, then Rochelle picks him up and tells him to order his friends to obey her, she throws him against the console and Megamind asks her how she is so strong.
In the lair, Chum and Keiko manage to reach to the collider and proceed to get rid of the can, the collider charges and activates, but it turns out that Chum had it set for gelato, he puts it on atomize and the collider is activated, but it turns out that the roaches took the can and ran away with it. Chum throws Keiko and she takes the can, Keiko runs away easily but then she slips with a banana peel and drops the can, fortunately Chum grabs the can and runs to the time destabilizer, Chum puts the can in the destabilizer and thinks that if they can't destroy it, maybe they can send it back to the Stone Age.
Chum activates the destabilizer and sends the can through time, he thinks that everything is resolved when suddenly the can returns, Keiko realizes that Chum sent it 2 seconds into the future and they run. The duo flees from the insects and then Chum gets the idea to ask Polly 227 (his robot parakeet) for help, Polly 227 takes the can and flies towards the skylight to escape, but he crashes into the skylight because it is closed and the can falls on a ceiling beam, so Keiko goes for it.
In the "I Never Panic Room", Rochelle gets into Megamind's clothes and causes him to itch all over his body, Rochelle gets out of Megamind's clothes and tells him that there's more where that came from if he doesn't convince his friends to hand over the spray, Megamind refuses to do so and tells her that she may has tapped into his darkest fears, but she'll have to find someone else to be her puppet, then Rochelle gets an idea and uses the console to control Chum, Megamind tells her that that is his job and is surprised to see that she is willing to do something so evil.
Keiko climbs onto the beam and reaches for the can, but then Rochelle takes control of Chum and she makes him grab and throw Keiko like a rag doll, Keiko asks Chum what he's doing and Chum tells her that he does that, to which Keiko tells him that it feels like he's doing it. Rochelle laughs while she controlling Chum and Megamind tells the tyrannical roach that what she is doing is madness, Rochelle tells him to stop her if he dares and that he just has to understand his hand and swat her away, Megamind tries to do it but his hand stops before touching the roach, he calls his hand a coward and tells it to swat her, he tells it to do it and he promises to start moisturizing it. Megamind tries to swat Rochelle but is unable to do so and Rochelle laughs, she asks Megamind if it's too much for Metro City's greatest hero and makes the situation worse.
Rochelle makes Chum start dancing on the beams while he holds Keiko, Keiko tells Chum to let her go but he can't becuase Rochelle hacked into his mainframe, Keiko asks him how to stop it and Chum tells her to press the override button on the main console, which is on the floor, Rochelle makes the duo's problem more difficult and dangerous and she laughs at their situation, but fortunately Megamind comes up with an idea to help his friends, Megamind asks her if she wants to know why he is afraid of cockroaches, Rochelle tells him yes and to tell her and Megamind tells his story.
He was just a kid, growing up in prison, he didn't have much, but he was a highly resourceful young man, reusing everything in the cellblock. One day he decided to craft a pillow out of a bag of discarded ham sandwiches, that night, the smell attracted all the roaches in the prison, he woke up and found the bugs using his face as a dining hall at a nightmarish all-you-can-eat ham sandwich buffet. Sometimes, he can still feel their tiny roach feet dancing all over his face, much to his horror.
Rochelle sarcastically claps her hands and tells Megamind that then he is the famous "Ham Boy", she tells him that for generations, the cockroaches have told the tale of a boy who did something so stupid that it led to the greatest feast that their people have ever known, Rochelle tells him that there he is and that he is still that "Scared, stupid little Ham Boy" and that his story is tragic, to which Megamind adds that it was also a long distraction, Rochelle is surprised to hear that and turns to look at the console, then Keiko throws the can at the button and Chum reboots, making the cockroach scream "Nein!".
Chum starts to reboot and accidentally lets go of Keiko, fortunately he reboots completely and catches her just in time, but unfortunately the roaches grab the can, Rochelle laughs and tells Megamind that his distraction was in vain and that they won, all thanks to his fear. Rochelle leaves the room, congratulates her roaches and sprays them with the spray, the roaches become intelligent and Rochelle welcomes them to the next phase in roach evolution, she tells them that they lived off humanity's scraps and that they will make them live off of theirs and that when they control the food, they will control the world. Chum admits that's a pretty airtight evil plan and sees no flaws in it.
Keiko feels guilty about the situation and believes that none of it would have happened if he hadn't made the mess, although Chum admits that he grabbed the wrong spray, he declares that she tried to warned him but he didn't listen and admits that he was jealous, the duo reconciles and fist bumps, Megamind tells them that he's happy that they resolved their differences but reminds them of the end of the world situation while the roaches make him vomit.
Rochelle opens the lair's door and tells her roach regime to come out, Keiko and Chum try to stop the roaches and Megamind tries to think of what they can do to stop them, but his phobia of roaches leaves him disgusted, Keiko tells Megamind that maybe he just needs to suck it up his fear, upon hearing "suck it up", Chum gets an idea and tells Keiko that she's brilliant, Chum explains that they can stop the bugs with the Power Vac and proceeds to turn it on, but it needs repairs, so Keiko tries to buy some time and she attracts the army with garbage, Rochelle tells her army to resist their instincts but it's useless and the bugs go after Keiko. The roaches work together to catch Keiko, she is surprised at how smart they are and asks Chum if he can hurry up, they finally manage to catch Keiko and tie her to a chair, Chum almost finishes the repairs and he only needs a crescent wrench, Keiko helps him remember where he is, Chum finds her and fixes the vacuum cleaner.
Chum turns on the vacuum cleaner and the roaches are sucked up, Rochelle panics to see her babies being sucked up, she turns off the power switch to free them and sends them to Metro City, Chum tells Megamind to turn on the power switch and he proceeds to do so but then sees Rochelle standing on the switch. Chum and Keiko tells him that he can do it Megamind tries to turn it on but he's unable to face his fear, Rochelle laughs and tells him that he failed again, Keiko worries because if a single cockroach manages to get out, it's game over, but then he thinks of how to help Megamind, he calls Polly 227 and the robot parakeet plays a video of Megamind in which he tells his fans that to be a superhero, one must be fashionable, punctual and utterly brave in any situation, Megamind gets brave when he hears that and says that his video is right, Rochelle declares that he can't win and that he is still a "Scared little Ham Boy" but Megamind tells her no and that he is a "Scared little Ham Man" and then Megamind is finally able to face his fear, he pushes Rochelle and turns on the switch. The vacuum cleaner turns on and all the roaches are sucked up, including Rochelle, to her horror. Chum unties Keiko and they both congratulate Megamind for did it, Megamind says that they all did it and he is disgusted for having touched a roach.
Megamind, Chum and Keiko put Rochelle and her cockroaches on a rocket, Rochelle declares that they've not heard the last of her but Keiko closes the rocket and declares that they've heard enough for one day, Chum activates the rocket and the rocket takes off. The trio celebrates and Chum and Keiko acknowledge that they learned to apply each other's techniques. They see the rocket traveling to space on the console, Megamind thinks that if they're lucky, that's the last they'll see of Rochelle and her group, Keiko asks him where they are going and Megamind tells him that Proxima Centauri B, a planet fit for a roach and thinks that he was very too kind to send them there. Arriving on Proxima Centauri B, Rochelle discovers that Megamind sent them to a garbage planet, she tells him to mark her words and that the roaches will have their "revonge", then she complains and realizes that he made her say the word wrong.
