Roark "Rocky" Rickaby is the main protagonist of the webcomic Lackadaisy, and its animated short of the same name. He will also appear in the upcoming web-series adaption.
He is a bootlegger working with the company, Lackadaisy Speakeasy. While he isn't truly evil, he is a thrill-seeking criminal who has committed multiple felonies for Lackadaisy's current owner, Mitzi May. He is the best friend and teammate of both his cousin, Calvin "Freckle" McMurray and co-worker, Ivy Pepper.
In the animated short and several motion comics, Rocky was voiced by Michael Kovach, who also voiced N in Murder Drones, and Experiment-1006 and The Scientist in Poppy Playtime.
Appearance[]
Rocky is a young adult gray cat with blue eyes and a bushy, tabby tail. He usually dons a blue suit and hat, coupled with an orange "lucky" tie and a white undershirt. After an incident with a hearse, Rocky has a scar in the middle of his forehead.
Personality[]
Rocky is generally very destructive, reckless and unpredictable. He takes clear joy in the thrill of crime and while he does panic when put in danger, he will ease up after a bit before exclaiming joy in the danger. He also seems to enjoy annoying his teammates, Ivy and Freckle. Despite this, he does take his job seriously, to an extent, and tries to complete whatever task he gets.
He is also very interested in music, especially the violin, and is very talented when it comes to singing. He is also implied to have a crush on his boss, Mitzi May. Despite annoying them, Rocky does care for his teammates and never takes his teasing too far. When his aunt Nina asked him if he loves Freckle, Rocky proudly confirmed, saying that his cousin's "dear to [him] as Dixie was to Lee". As the farmers whose farm Rocky set ablaze in retaliation after they pinned him to the train tracks attacked the speakeasy, he tried protecting his friends and took full responsibility for the incident. After his head injury, he lamented to Ivy about his past hardships and sorrowfully called himself a horrible person before bursting into tears.

- Rocky doesn't have a house, instead sleeping in a car.
- The author of the comic, Tracy Butler, once described his voice as being "a Thespian at heart, a very over-zealous one".
- Rocky is ultimately the exact opposite of his cousin, Freckle, as while Freckle is polite and shy, Rocky is boisterous and loves attention. Despite this, when Freckle entered one of his insane moments, Mitzi pointed out how that made it easier to see the two were related.
