Rod Sullivan is the main antagonist of the video game series Ice Scream.
Rod is an overly cheerful psychopath who disguises himself as an ice cream maker and seller as a way to lure, kidnap, freeze and kidnap children, particularly overweight ones, before turning them into ice cream.
He is the arch-nemesis of J. Brown, Mike Carter, Lis Owens and Charlie Owens
He is voiced by Ben Sullivan.
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Rod prior to Ice Scream. However, it is later learned that Rod‘s father owned an ice cream truck and outfit prior to the series‘ events.
As a child, Rod was teased and bullied for being fat, later scarring him. He later learned that his father punished these kids by setting up as a pretend ice cream truck driver and getting them fat by adding a secret ingredient to the ice cream.
On September 27th, 1972, Rod finally got what he needed to continue his father’s work. He got a truck and dug out his old outfit and mask. However, he still needed the special ingredient, and was close to it.
On January 3rd, 1973, he states (in his diary) that he needs to find the secret ingredient, and decides the remake the ice cream his father created.
On April 8th, 1974, Rod realizes he has recreated the special ingredient, coming to realize the children he was serving are now obese.
On July 15th, 1975, Rod decides to put his plan into action and kidnap the kids in the neighborhood, specifically J.
After his diary entry, Rod goes out and tries to put his plan of kidnapping J into action, and eventually freezes and kidnaps Charlie, one of J’s friends.
Ice Scream[]
After locking up Charlie in a cage within his ice cream truck, Rod has no choice but to try and kidnap J.
Rod will kidnap J several times (depending on how sneaky the player is) and lock him up in the stall. If the player saves Charlie before all three lives are up, J and Charlie will return home, and Rod will find a way to get back at them.
Ice Scream 2[]
11 Months after the events of Ice Scream, Rod kidnaps Charlie’s sister, Lis, and J has no choice but to save her once again. Rod will stalk the player, and try to stop him as well.
Throughout the game, the player learns a lot about Rod’s past, like how he was bullied in school.
Ice Scream 3[]
Rod has kidnapped J’s neighbor, Mike, and J has no choice but to save him.
The player learns more about Rod's past. Including when Rod found out his foster father had been killed in a car accident.
Also in this game, it is revealed that Sister Madeline aka Evil Nun is Rod’s mother.
Ice Scream 4[]
Rod has kidnapped J, Charlie, Lis and Mike, but J escaped from his cage to rescue his friends. Rod will try to catch him with the help of Boris, the security guard, and his Mini Rods, little robots with a mask just like his father's.
Ice Scream 5[]
Rod starts searching the factory to find J. and Mike to save each other.
Ice Scream 6[]
Rod searches for Charlie in the kitchen and he searches for J. in the area of the factory.
Ice Scream 7[]
Rod searches for Lis in the laboratory. When Charlie ate the whole cake Rod spotted Charlie and found J. and his friends in the control room.
Ice Scream 8[]
Rod activates the security system and seals all of the exits and accidentally locked Sister Madeline. This is also where Rod dies ultimately with Sister Madeline.
Personality[]
Rod is a middle-aged man who enjoys kidnapping kids, especially the fat, chubby ones. He is a cheerful and pychoptic in a rather twisted manner.
Also, Rod is shown to be an extremely angry person. For example, whenever J, Charlie, Mike and Lis manage to get away from him, Rod gets very mad and starts to call the four children horrible names, like 'fat, chubby brats', as shown in the intro cutscene of Ice Scream 5.
Appearance[]
Rod wears a Ice cream apron covered in ice cream stains. He also wears a creepy ice cream mask with a bite in it. The mask also has a large smile, big eyes, and a blue nose. The mask is old, grey, and damaged, along with a classic blue and white ice cream hat.
When he takes off his mask, his hair is grey and dark brown.
From child to young adult years, Rod has light red cheeks, white shirt and black hair.
Before Rod adopted by his adoptive father, Joseph Sullivan, he was wear Elisa's dress, but it's red.

- It is unknown why Rod is locked on J as he is not fat or chubby. He might resemble his bullies, however.
- His mask uses liquid nitrogen to freeze people.
- He had a sister named Elisa who died before he was born. However, she can also be considered as Rod's reincarnation as Ice Scream 5's secret cutscene shows how Elisa's soul entered Rod's body when he was born
- Rod was born in December 1940, and Ice Scream 3 (and till date) is based in 1983, which means that Rod is 41-42 years old during the timeline of the Ice Scream Saga.
