Roderick Peterson is the main antagonist of Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger. He is the nationwide sensation conductor of St Cuthbert choir and the twin brother of Donald Peterson.
He was portrayed by David Tennant, who also played his twin brother Donald in the same film, Kilgrave in Marvel's Jessica Jones, Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Wilf in Postman Pat: The Movie, Dread the Evil Genie in Jake and the Never Land Pirates, the Lord Commander in Final Space, Sir Piers Pomfrey in St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold, Cale Erendreich in Bad Samaritan, Brendan Block in Secret Smile, Brimscythe in The Legend of Vox Machina, Steven Clemens in The Bill, Edgar Fallon in Criminal: UK, Dennis Nilsen in Des, and Harry Watling in Inside Man.
Biography[]
Roderick is the twin brother of the protagonist, Donald, but it is he himself who is the favorite of their father due to his success. Roderick is very distant from Donald and doesn't really have a relationship with him. When they were children, a pendant was made with a picture of them inside, but it broke in half with each half only having the image of one of the boys. Donald keeps the half with Roderick on it close to him at all times.
In the film there is an upcoming choir competition named "A Song for Christmas", and St Cuthbert attend it. Roderick is determined to win and resorts to low and ruthless means to do so, including stealing a song from Oakmoor School, one of their competitors, and stealing a baby from another one of their competitors, St. Bernadettes; the school Donald is a teacher at and is attending the competition with. He also imprisons the entire St. Bernadettes class in a snow globe so they will be unable to perform. In the end, Oakmoor wins and Roderick is deeply disappointed.
Roderick goes to see Donald after losing the competition and the two make peace and it is indicated that they will have a closer relationship from that moment onward. Roderick even reveals that he kept the half of the pendant with Donald on it close to him all this time, despite not seeing him in person much.
