~ The Rogues defecting from the US Goevrnment once again and asking Wally West to join them.
The Rogues are major characters in the Absolute Flash comic book series of DC's Absolute Universe initiative, serving as the main antagonists of the first arc.
They are a group of government agents that sold out themselves during a mission in Syria, being court martialed and just barely escaping harsher punishment by the US. Eventually, they were sought out and brought together as a team again to serve as test subjects for the enhancements and weapons of Project Olympus under the threat of finally facing repercussions for their treason, thus becoming special agents that carry out Fort Fox's missions every now and then.
The Rogues were initially a group of agents for the US Government. Under unknown circunstances, they sold themselves out during a mission in Syria, severely damaging their reputation and forever leaving themselves as prime targets for retaliation by the government to be arrested or executed, they go by different ways. One day, Rudy West, by orders of superiors at Fort Fox, looked for the four as prime test subjects for Project Olympus' weapons due to their experience and expendability.

As they adapted to their new special weapons and gadgets, the Rogues started doing missions for the government. When teenager Wally West obtained super speed powers in an accident during a test in Project Olympus and runs away, the Rogues are deployed to detain him and bring him back. They initially confront him in a cave in the desert, as he is psychologically unstable and not used to his own powers. Trickster eventually protects the team from one of Wally's accidental energy waves, before trapping the boy himself in a force field. However, he escapes and none of the Rogues are able to catch up to him.
Snart has the idea to deploy Grodd, a psychic monkey from Project Olympus, to help find and secure Wally. However, when the primate bonds with the boy, he decides on turning on the Rogues, sending psychic attacks that quickly incapacitate the quartet. They decide to regroup and inform the situation to Elenore Thawne, who is deeply unpleased. They go out to track Wally once again, this time with Grodd as target as well.
The next time they find Wally, he's been arrested after fainting in the middle of a shoplifting. They break him out and knock out the guard guarding him, intending to bring him with them. He is finally compliant, but all of them are interrupted when the source of the harsh storm that had been affecting the area for a while, the Weather Wizard, attacks them with lightning bolts. Wally, donning his Flash costume, fights him and defeats him.
Once the Rogues catch up to him, Wally changes his mind from before and calims he won't return to Fort Fox. Snart agrees, saying none of the Rogues will, declaring they're going rogue against Project Olympus' orders and ask Wally to come with them.
