|~ Roland Durand|
Roland Durand is a minor antagonist in Star Wars: The Bad Batch, featured in the episode "Infested". He was known as a previous client of Cid, for being the owner of Ruby, and for forcefully taking over Cid's Parlor for the Pyke Syndicate's spice routes.
He was voiced by Tom Taylorson, who also voiced Chef Fujimoto in Octodad.
Roland was a green Devaronian male who had one of his horns cut off by the Pyke Syndicate.
Roland's voice was calm and monotonous. He was proud of his overtaking of Cid's Parlor. Though snarky, he first offered Hunter and the others work, which they refused. When being questioned by the Pykes about the missing spice, Roland appeared anxious and defensive. Roland's tone caused Tech to guess that Roland had murdered Cid.
He seems to have a soft side, as he was worried when Ruby was missing and he was humbled by his experience with the Pikes as he seems ashamed and is seen casually talking with Omega while captured. This led Omega to believing Roland was not as bad as he seemed.
A crime boss named Isa Durand was his mother. He had learned to "take what you want" from his mother, calling it the "Durand way". After the Bad Batch rescued a lizard and Omega named it Ruby, it was sold to Roland.
Shortly after, he took over Cid's Parlor in relation to his alliance with the Pykes. After the Bad Batch stole spice that was going to be sold, Durand's forces fought with the clones, resulting in the spice being lost. When he admits to losing it, the Pyke syndicate threatens him and his family and he is held captive alongside Omega while Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Echo attempt to retrieve the spice. When Ruby cuddled with Omega, Roland mentioned that Ruby doesn't like most people. The Pyke Syndicate was planning to kill Roland, but Omega protested and only one of his horns was cut off as punishment. Cid took back control of the parlor after he left.
