Roland Kane is one of two main antagonists of Turok. He is a ruthless criminal that is currently working with Mendel Grumman troops on a terraformed planet to procure special bioweapons for the company to sell once they get back to Earth, leading to the events of the game with Whiskey Company attempting to apprehend him.

In the past, Kane met Turok after stopping the prison convoy he was currently on along with some other prisoners, offering them all a second chance at life if they join his black ops unit named Wolf Pack. Turok initially declined but later accepted, leading to Kane putting him through brutal training in order to toughen him up and mold him into a soldier. After enough training, Kane accepted Turok as a member of Wolf Pack and the whole unit was sent on a mission to kill a group of targets in Columbia. The whole village was left almost entirely dead by the end of it, with the only surviving member being a woman that Turok had accidentally injured with an arrow. Kane then congratulates Turok for making a good shot, but then reveals that the village wasn't even the correct target area, meaning a whole lot of innocent people were murdered thanks to Kane, but he doesn't care regardless, saying he will find the targets even if he has to kill every peasant in the country. Kane then orders Turok to finish off the woman he injured but Turok refuses to, not wanting to kill innocents. Kane then simply tells Turok that "it's just a girl" before killing her with a head shot.

3 years later, Kane is now working with the Mendel-Grumman company on a terraformed planet, hoping to find deadly bioweapons from the planets creatures. After Whiskey Company had heard about this, they prepped an operation to find Kane and bring him back to Earth for his actions. However, Kane eventually found out what they were doing and fires a missile at their ship in space, getting most of the troops killed and splitting them up all over the planet, leading to them being picked off by either dinosaurs, MG troops or other strange creatures with only a small amount of soldiers still being alive by the time they reunite.

Later in the game, Kane reveals through a video that he has been doing research on the bugs relative to the planet after three of his scientists accidentally died while dissecting the bugs, hoping to weaponize the toxin for himself eventually. Kane is seen once again with an update on the bug toxin, modifying it into a toxic gas that can kill people in open areas within minutes that he tests on his own men, killing 24 of them while recording it. Kane then expresses glee at what he has created, saying that Mendel-Grumman will be paying them extra when they bring it back to Earth to sell to all kinds of evil people.

Kane later ambushes the 4 remaining soldiers of Whiskey Company, monologuing to Turok about how pathetic it is that only 4 remain, with him also going on to blame Turok for the deaths of the other members, but Cowboy stands up for him, telling Kane that Turok is the reason why they even lasted as long as they did, leading to Kane murdering him in cold blood. He then tells Turok he wasn't expecting that, but Turok simply tells him that life is full of surprises, before the C4 he planted earlier detonates and starts bringing the base down, killing Kane's second in command John Grimes and knocking him back, giving the remaining 3 members the opportunity to escape.

As Turok is about to escape with Slade and Shepard on a ship, he notices that Kane survived the blow and is getting ready to escape in a ship of his own, leading to Turok deciding to stay behind in order to prevent Kane from escaping alive. Turok eventually catches up to Kane, in which Kane attempts to kill him with the ships rockets. However, Turok manages to down the ship and the two end up being momentarily knocked out. After meeting face-to-face, Kane and Turok then get into a knife fight, with Kane momentarily getting the upper-hand but Turok manages to overpower him and stab him in the heart, finally ending him.
