“ | Rolf: Nobody is getting near that altar. Not until the number of claimants to the throne is reduced to just one - me. Zehir: You're on nobody's side, are you? Rolf: My side. My own side. And neither of those fools, nor some madman dressed like a minstrel, is going to get the upper hand. Zehir: It'll be sad to see you go. You're a sort of perfection, you know – every unpleasant human trait bundled into a single package. |

Biography[]
The Hammers of Fate[]
Rolf was a fairly high-ranking and successful dwarf even in the beginning. He was one of the outstanding warriors of the dwarves, he was also a diplomat and rune mage and in the politics, he was also an intelligent and shrewd person. At the same time, it soon showed that he was a very power-hungry, angry, cruel and mean dwarf. He wanted to be the new high king of the dwarves, but he did not want to assassinate the king, but he never hid that he wanted much more than what he had. His relationship was bad and strained with his brother-in-law Wulfstan, who was a border guard. One day, a knightly woman, Freyda Unicorn, came to them on a diplomatic mission.
Wulfstan was indifferent, but not impolite, but Rolf, on the other hand, was hostile to the girl at the beginning of the trial, and suddenly the castle was attacked. Laszlo, a knight and commander of the Red Church broke the agreement with the dwarves and launched an attack with his army. Rolf then wanted to capture Freyda and her soldiers to be valuable pawns and hostages to him, but Wulfstan stated that they were free to leave. However, the evil dwarf became very angry and stated that he would go after them, but was unsuccessful. Wulfstan and his brother-in-law together defended the dwarves' first, old capital, Vemsdal, then Rolf announced that he was leaving and would report to the king and high priest Hangvul. However, before he left, he killed Wulfstan's guards and abducted prince Andrei. He did everything he could to frame Wulfstan as a traitor, but Tholgar and Hangvul did not believe him. Then the false Queen Isabel, who was the succubus Biara, appeared and successfully convinced the two old leaders of Rolf's accusations. Biara's move was especially good for the dwarf, because he was supported by the king and Hangvul, and he could also fight against Wulfstan. Rolf then set out with a smaller army to defeat and kill Wulfstan. He wanted to attack his brother-in-law with the help of a magical portal, but he successfully defended himself against the attack and the battle quickly turned. Rolf's army was destroyed, and his last remaining soldier joined to Wulfstan. The power-hungry dwarf was very angry and promised his brother-in-law that he would return, then fled. Then Tholgar and the false Isabel made an alliance, and Rolf and Hangvul were already waiting for the king with a smaller army. Rolf said that the warriors were loyal and enthusiastic, but undisciplined and not very brave. Hangvul and Rolf tried to talk him out of it, but he was very stubborn and they had to stick with his decision. Rolf then inquired as to who would be the new king after Tholgar's death, however Hangvul quickly explained to him that he did not support him and was well aware of his intentions, he only does what he does for his people.
Tribes of the East[]
After the death of King Tholgar, Rolf disappeared for a long time, and Wulfstan was pursued by Hangvul and other dwarves. However, he was helped by Zehir, the young wizard who needed the dwarves in the final battle against the demons and the Red Church. Wulfstan told Zehir that if they could summon Arkath, the dragon god of the dwarves, then Hangvul would stand with them and they could go to war. The wizard found the passage in a rather rough and dangerous area, which led to the place where the ancient dragon could be summoned. However, Rolf suddenly teleported there with a large and strong army and told Zehir that no one could cross and that he would become the new high king of the dwarves. The wizard saw that he had only one choice, and that was to kill Rolf and destroy his army. In the final battle, Rolf fought hard and furiously, but in the end he was defeated, and Zehir killed him, in the army of the usurper, no one survived the battle. After his death, Arkath was summoned, Hangvul realized his mistake and Wulfstan became the new high king of the dwarves.
Personality[]
Rolf was the perfect opposite of Wulfstan. He was a very power-hungry, hostile, ruthless, violent, heartless control-freak. He was only interested in him being the king, he was not interested in anything more than power, but he was careful. He was respectful of his superiors words and he was careful of what he was talking about, but he was always short-tempered contemptuous, condemning, and contemptuous against anyone else. In order to achieve his goal, he saw anyone as a tool, a pawn, he was able to ruin even Wulfstan's reputation almost completely in order to get closer to the throne and he went so far as to kill dwarves. Rolf also despised and hated humans, he called them hot-headed and a liar, though he was no different.
