Roman Khabko is a target and the main antagonist of HITMAN 2's third sniper mission Crime and Punishment. He's a powerful inmate who has risen to being the warden's second in command. 47 is required to assassinate him before he can buy his way to freedom to avoid causing a diplomatic scandal.
Biography[]
Khabko lived in Ukraine with his father, a gasoline smuggler, until his father was assassinated by KGB officials. He moved to America to live with his uncle, subsequently getting involved with the Russian mafia. Khabko became a force to be reckoned with, becoming a feared and respected enforcer, spending his time in and out of jail, until a drug deal he was involved in left four DEA officers dead.
Not wanting to face reprecussions for his actions, Khabko fled to Russia where he became a human trafficker and pimp, forcing men and women into sex slavery or selling them to diplomats, businessmen, and politicians. He eventually got too cocky and was arrested for blackmailing an important politician, being put into a notorious Siberian prison camp.
Khabko made himself at home in the ruthless climate and gradually took control of the prison. He earned the warden's respect and became his second in command, ruling over the other inmates in the warden's absence. He was responsible for murdering many inmates in his fourteen year stay, causing a diplomatic scandal due to the warden's political standing.
Khabko eventually got tired of the cold and decided to go someplace warmer, bribing the warden with ten million dollars to help with his escape. He was assassinated by 47 before he could flee during a prison riot.
Personality[]
Khabko was nothing short of a monster. Seeing people as little more than property, he was complicit in the murders, rapes, and kidnappings of countless people. In prison, he was a force to be reckoned with, with many of the other most brutal and dangerous criminals in the world wisely keeping on Khabko's good side.
Khabko was also extremely violent, as he was introduced beating a man to death and crushing his head in with a car battery for no reason other than sadism. The only person he was on good terms was the warden, as the two of them mutally benefitted each other.
Trivia[]
- Khabko is one of the only two sniper targets to murder someone during the level. Unlike Jin Noo who would kill the hostages 47 intended to rescue, however, Khabko would potentially murder another target and a generic prisoner, neither of which would trigger the mission's failure.
- Khabko and the warden can both be killed by someone other than 47, as the buildings they are in can be set on fire by the prisoners, killing them instantly.
- Along with Jordan Cross and Robert Knox, he can murder another target, as he strangles the warden should the two meet without any guards around. This example is notable as he is the only target to intentionally murder someone else, as Cross and Knox are only guilty of manslaughter.
- Khabko is probably the most evil of the sniper targets, as like Lhom Kwai, he has no honor whatsoever and will murder anybody for the most petty reasons imaginable.
