Roman Roy is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Siobhan Roy) of the HBO drama series Succession.
He is the youngest son of Logan Roy, as well as the youngest son of Caroline Collingwood. He is also the younger brother to Connor and Kendall, and the older brother to Siobhan "Shiv" Roy. Despite generally being competent, he was the most immature and unserious of Logan's children, and is frequently berated by his father for being a 'f--cking moron'. He vies for the position of CEO of Waystar Royco alongside his older brother, Kendall, and later alongside Shiv.
He is portrayed by Kieran Culkin, who also voiced Oswald Neneeka in The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

On the surface, Roman presents himself as a rude, derisive, snarky, immature, and sarcastic individual who is self-centered and doesn't have respect for anyone or himself, with the only arguable exception being his father. He doesn't hesitate in mocking anyone about anything, even things that are personal such as Shiv's marriage to Tom, as well as Kendall's drug habit. When he is insulted by anyone other than his father, he will either brush it off with a scathing reply or take pleasure in it. He does crude things, such as sending Gerri Kellman pictures of his penis whilst they're both on the job.
Despite his behavior, he can be surprisingly shrewd and cunning; he's able to accurately assess risk and reward, perhaps more than his other two siblings. He was able to realize that Vaulter was baggage and immediately recommended their father shut them down. He also was able to finesse his way into a deal with Eduard Asgarov, but then immediately advised his father not to take it once he saw the risks. He was also the one to propose that the Roys back Jeryd Mencken in the Presidential election, believing that he could win, and this intuition turned out to be correct.
Roman is the 'kicked dog' of the family, and was likely the biggest target of their father's mocking and abuse when he was a kid. The abuse is heavily implied; Logan even once smacked Roman in the face and knocked out his tooth for mocking him, and didn't even properly apologize for it afterwards. Everyone has a low opinion of him, with Kendall saying he's 'not a serious person,' Shiv mocking his issues with their mother, and even Greg Hirsch calling him a 'sexual pervert'. Whilst this is somewhat justified considering Roman's own constant insults, it nonetheless fills him with a deep insecurity. His biggest insecurity is that he cannot properly have sexual intercourse with a woman, to the point where Logan mockingly asked if he was gay using a slur.
