Ronald Miller is a minor antagonist in Psycho Sanitarium.
Biography[]
Ronald Miller is a sadistic serial rapist he was sent to an asylum miles from Fairvile in the 1950s for his crimes. He spent much of his time in isolation due to being untrustworthy by the staff of the institute due to his unpredictable behaviour and the fact he was willing to rape anyone (although he was primarily interested in women). When Norman Bates was sent to the institution in 1960 after committing four murders, Ronald took an interest in Norman, and his murder of Mary Crane, whom Norman had decapitated in the shower at his motel when under the influence of his split personality "Mother". He didn't care for Norman's murder of Detective Milton Arbogast, due to the victim being a male.
Ronald is later given privileges for good behavior and was allowed to mix with the other patients. He approached a lone Norman and tried to get him to reveal the grisly details of his murder of Crane, which unnerved Norman and later caused him to throw up due to Ronald trying to get sexual pleasure from it. A shaken Norman was taken back to his cell by Dr. Felix Reed. Ronald is disappointed by Norman's personality as he came across quiet and meek and not like a serial killer, but later found amusement in it and planned to further push Norman's buttons and see if he could make him snap again. He later had a run in with Norman, but was escorted away back to his cell by the guards.
In his cell, Ronald plotted to rape and later kill one of the nurses in the hospital, and got turned on by his fantasy. But he never got to carry out his plan as he was attacked by a knife wielding assailant in his cell and stabbed to death. Ronald's body is later wrapped in a sheet and hidden away in a secret part of the hospital. It is believed that Ronald had somehow escaped from his cell and was on the run, although some staff were paranoid that he was still lurking in the hospital and preparing to strike.
It is revealed that Norman, under the influence of a new split personality named Robert Newman, killed Ronald Miller under the manipulation of Dr. Reed. Dr. Reed wanted to wipe out the undesirables in the hospital that he felt were causing disruption and harm to others, and felt Ronald had to die due to his sadistic and cruel nature and how he would disturb Norman's treatment progress.
