~ Ron to Jessie. |
Ron is the 38-year-old (by 75, eBid username) manager of the Sleep Well motel. He has an anxious personality, with a tendency to laugh nervously. He loves iguanas, as evidenced by his eBid username "iguanaluvr75", and the fact that he owns one. He steals toys and other objects from his customers using his pet iguana Mr. Jones to take them, and sells them on the Internet to the highest bidder.
When Bonnie Anderson and her mother came by to the Sleep Well motel (due to their car suffering a flat tire), Ron gives them the keys to Room #7. He then secretly sends Mr. Jones to Room #7 to check to see if there are any toys to steal. When Jessie, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Pricklepants, Potato Head, Rex and Trixie were captured, Ron also had several other toys in his possession. Ron was thrilled that the winning bidder on Woody was offering $2000, and proceeded in putting him a package to send. Before he could do the same to Jessie, a tow truck driver comes by to fix up Mrs. Anderson's flat tire, so Ron shows him the way to Room #7 to meet up with Mrs. Anderson. This allows Jessie enough time to rescue Woody and expose the other toys' location inside Ron's office to Bonnie and her mother. As Bonnie reclaims her remaining toys, Mrs. Anderson gets furious with Ron and swears to call the police on him for stealing her daughter's toys before leaving, allowing the rest of the toys to escape away to their homes in a mail truck.
During the credits, two policemen arrived to the motel (called by Bonnie's mother), asking him if he was the manager. Panicking, Ron nervously assured he wasn't, saying he would go get the manager, and disappeared in his office. He ran out the back door and attempted to hijack the police car. However, in his panic he failed to look where he was going, instead crashing into his motel's sign, which fell on the police car. He left the smashed police car and ran off, as an officer simply alerted the police that they "got a runner". It can be implied and interpreted by viewers that he may have gotten arrested for not only resisting arrest, but also by secretly stealing toys from guests.
In Deleted Scenes[]
The team thought it was important to explain Ron's motivation to steal, but all scenes pertaining to this were cut. These deleted scenes revealed Ron was "raising money" to get a dream boat from "Bob's Boatyard", his neighbor. The sales of Woody and Jessie finally bring him enough money, and he immediately goes on to order the boat. In the alternate ending, it is towed to Ron precisely as he is arrested. Upon seeing this, the driver freaks out and drives backwards in a hurry, getting the boat accidentally smashed in pieces by a passing truck, to Ron's dismay.

Trivia[]
- Ron is the third human villain in the Toy Story franchise, after Sid Phillips and Al McWhiggin.
- Interestingly, all of them have experienced taking any of Andy's Toys, including Woody, behind his back (though, in Ron's case, that was after Andy decided to donate them to Bonnie Anderson).
- He is also the second human villain in the franchise to have a pet animal (and in his case, it's his pet iguana Mr. Jones) after Sid Philips (who has a pet dog named Scud).
- Additionally, he has the least satisfactory fate among them, as he was busted and presumably arrested by the police officers after they have found out about his thieving ways.
- Oddly enough, if one would look closer on Woody's box, it is revealed that Al was the person who won Woody and possibly the person who also won Jessie. This is officially confirmed in another deleted scene during the special. (It is implied that he has already found new toys of Stinky Pete and Bullseye.)
- Ron has a cup that reads: "Here Comes Trouble", hinting that he is the villain of the special.
