Ronan the Accuser is a major antagonist in the animated series Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes. He is a high-ranking official and the "Supreme Accuser of the Kree Empire", who serves as both a judge and a military enforcer. He is also the arch-enemy of Johnny Storm/Human Touch.
He was voiced by Michael Dobson who played Ghost in Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Larry Grimley in Tony Hawk: Boom Boom Sabotage, Blob in X-Men: Evolution, and Alpha Richter in Zoids: Fuzors.
Appearance[]
Ronan has blue skin and wears a heavy, green exoskeleton battle armor, and a blue cloak with yellow strips.
Biography[]
In his first episode, "Trial by Fire", Ronan abducts Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) from Earth and puts him on trial for "high crimes against the Kree Empire" for destroying a Kree probe. The rest of the Fantastic Four arrive and act as Johnny's defense, but Ronan sentences him to execution. The team fights the robotic executioners, and when Johnny saves a Kree child from a malfunctioning robot, the Kree audience demands his release. Humiliated, Ronan releases Johnny and is subsequently banished from the Kree Empire by the Supreme Intelligence for his failure.
After his banishment, he allied himself with the Kree's mortal enemies, the Skrulls, to seek revenge on the Fantastic Four, especially Johnny. He conspired with the Super-Skrull to to create an "army" of Super-Skrulls, using both Kree and Skrull technology and participated in an assault on Earth. The Fantastic Four manage to trick the Skrull forces into believing Ronan is secretly plotting with their enemy, leading to the Skrulls turning on Ronan. He is then chased away by both Skrull troops and the Super-Skrull,
He makes his final appearance in "Contest of Champions", where he is one of the villains the Grandmaster forces the Fantastic Four to battle, with the fate of humanity at stake. In a final one-on-one fight with the Thing, Ronan uses an energy beam from an orbiting ship to gain a massive power boost and brutally beats the Thing, who refuses to give up. The Grandmaster suddenly declares the Thing the winner because of his honorable, never-surrender attitude, despite being outmatched physically.
After the Thing wins the final match, the Grandmaster offers him one wish. Instead of using the wish for himself, the Thing wishes for the release of his friends, the villains (including Ronan), and to prevent the destruction of the species of all the losers. The Grandmaster honors the wish, and Ronan is freed and spared. His fate afterwards remains ambiguous. He is off somewhere likely plotting his next attempt to defeat the Fantastic Four.
Personality[]
Ronan is a rigid and unyielding figure who embodies the strict, militaristic code of the Kree Empire, at least as he interprets it and shows no mercy to those he deems enemies of the Empire. He is also an expert tactician and highly knowledgeable in Kree law. He used his position as Supreme Accuser to pursue his personal vendetta against the Human Torch after being humiliated in the trial. Ronan believed he was upholding Kree law and ancient traditions; however, his superiors and the Kree public eventually viewed his actions as an embarrassment and cause for banishment. After his banishment, his cruelty and desire for personal revenge become more pronounced, as he is willing to ally with the Kree's enemies, the Skrulls, and put the entire Earth in danger to satisfy his vendetta against the Fantastic Four. Ultimately, he was willing to put the entire Earth in danger as part of his plot to reclaim his honor and exact his retribution.
