Roscoe Gulch is the overarching antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode "There's No Place Like Home". Gulch is a pedophile and the childhood abuser of serial killer Travis James, as well as the killer of Travis' brother Tucker.
Biography[]
Gulch was arrested for sexually assaulting Travis and five other boys in Enid, Oklahoma, but the jury acquitted him due to lack of evidence. Tucker constantly attacked Gulch throughout the proceedings of his trial, once breaking his nose. The day after Gulch's acquittal, Tucker attacked him again at his trailer. This was a night a tornado warning was in effect due to a storm in the town, and when a twister approached the trailer park, Tucker shouted at Travis to hide in a storm shelter. Travis found a drainage pipe and lived, but he watched his brother die from Gulch striking Tucker's head with a cooking pan. Whether Tucker was still dead or alive, he and Gulch were swallowed up by the tornado, the storm ensuring the both of them were killed. James grew into a delusion that if he killed teenage boys and cut off their body parts, he could piece his "brother" back together, so he slaughtered four boys in such a fashion and nearly killed a fifth boy. Travis died from another twister he walked into with the gestalt of the boys' remains he stitched together.
