Roscoe Sweeney is a minor antagonist in Seasons 1 and 2 of the 2015 Netflix TV series Daredevil. Sweeney is a corrupt boxing promoter whose business was based on blackmail and extortion and was responsible for killing Jack Murdock, the father of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil.
He was portrayed by Kevin Nagle.
Biography[]
Roscoe Sweeney appeared for the first time after Matt became blind, because his father needed money to support him, Sweeney offered to pay him to lose in his battles. Jack, who was desperate, accepted the offer and began to fight and lose. One day sweeney approached Jack and told him that he organized a fight with Carl Creel and when Matt found out about this, he asked his father to win, which Jack accepted despite everything but unfortunately although he won, sweeney decided to send to kill him. For a long time Sweeney hid under false names, becoming a wanted criminal and it was said that in all that time he ordered the deaths of many parents. All until Elektra Natchios, Matt's girlfriend at the time, found him. In revenge, Matt began to beat him brutally but when Elektra told him to kill him, he refused and decided to call the authorities. It was never explicitly said what happened to Sweeney but it is understood that he was arrested and sentenced for his crimes.

Roscoe Sweeney can be described as a greedy, ambitious man with no empathy towards anyone he hurts. He mocked Matt for killing his father and because he hit him weakly and threatened to kill him and Elektra for kidnapping him from their own home.

- In the comics, Roscoe Sweeney is also known as the Fixer due to his illegal activities that led him to be responsible for Jack Murdock's murder. He was the first criminal that Daredevil brought down, though he died as the fear caused him to suffer a fatal heart attack during the encounter.
