Rose Loomis is the main antagonist of Niagara (1953). She is a liberated, sexually adventurous, and dangerous woman, manipulating her husband while plotting with her lover to kill him.
She is portrayed by the late Marilyn Monroe, her first villainous role.
Physical Appearance[]
Rose is an extremely beautiful, young woman with sea-blue eyes and curly, blonde hair. As much a natural wonder as the Falls themselves, Rose consistently wears clothes that are variations of black and red -- two colors associated with women who are alluring, cunning, and powerful.
Personality[]
As her name suggests, Rose is a beautiful flower, one with deadly poisonous thorns, but nonetheless a creation of nature, a powerful force as well, like Niagara Falls. Rose is also an intelligent master manipulator; and once to the outside world with everyone around her, she is the very embodiment of sweetness and concern.
Rose is a believable woman, who is somewhat empathetic, in spite of her malevolent, murderous carnality and her mysterious past.
