Biography[]
Evelyn was one of three sisters in a rich family, along with Franziska and Kitty. Their father Tobias became paranoid of a curse on the family signified by a painting in the castle they lived in, where a dead "Red Queen" would kill seven times every hundred years regarding people associated with the family, particularly using the children and any serious wrongs they may do as a means to do so. Tobias gave Evelyn up for adoption to stop the curse, adopting another "Evelyn" and having the painting removed, forcing the real Evelyn to leave under the alias of Rosemary Müller. The real Evelyn grew to work in journalism like her sister, Kitty, keeping close to stay connected, with Kitty never knowing the truth where Franziska did.
When Franziska covered for Kitty with a brutal fight she had with "Evelyn", killing "Evelyn" and leaving Kitty with the guilt, Franziska then manipulated the real Evelyn into an obedience from drug addiction fed by Petar Lenheim, the fake "Evelyn's" boyfriend, enticing her into taking on the "Red Queen" persona, but with a mask of the fake "Evelyn's" face to make it seem like the curse was enacted by Evelyn's ghost. Hoping to kill her family and the sole heir of the family's wealth, Franziska had Evelyn scare Tobias to death in the costume. After recruiting Evelyn to repestedly stalk and harass Kitty, Franziska made her, still under the Müller alias by day, kill people around her to misdirect possible investigations and terrorize Kitty and people close to her so she and whoever protected would be easier to kill.
The "Müller" Evelyn, in costume, soon after stabbed Hans Meyer and Leonora Roiburg (who found out the killer’s identity) with a dagger, impaled Elizabeth Hoffman's head on a fence post, dragged Lenheim with her car, and shot Lulù Palm with a silenced pistol. Kitty and her married lover, Martin Hoffman, are originally the prime suspects, especially after Elizabeth's death, as she was the hospitalized wife of Martin. Evelyn seemed finally ready to kill Kitty, but Franziska double crossed her and literally stabbed her in her back with the dagger she used in the murders. Kitty saw Evelyn stumble forward and reach in her direction, seemingly ready to kill her, but the dagger in her back was obvious when she fell, and she was unmasked to reveal her being the Red Queen killer.
Franziska tries to drown Kitty in a locked cellar in the castle to be drowned when it starts filling. Franziska is shot dead by husband Herbert, who was also an accomplice and fed up with the conspiracy, and Herbert, Hoffman, and the police find Kitty in time to save her, at the expense of Herbert's life, as he drowns in the cellar instead.
