Rottenella is the secondary antagonist of the LazyTown episode "Dancing Duel". Robbie Rotten used her to try to defeat Stephanie in a dance contest.
She was portrayed by Kristjana Sæunn Olafsdóttir.
Biography[]
Rottenella was originally a ballerina figurine on Robbie Rotten's music box, which he turned on its melody to teach Robot Robbie how to dance for a competition, albeit with little success.
After this, Robbie laments how his robot double couldn't be a good dancer like his music box ballerina and then realized that the ballerina could win the dance contest for him, which led him to enlarge her to human size with his size-changing machine, and after winding her up, the ballerina started to dance and intentionally kicked Robot Robbie back in the machine, shrinking him to his original size, much to her amusement and Robbie's annoyance which turned into joy when seeing she's really good at dancing.
At the day of the dance competition, Robbie spies on Lazy Town and discovers that Stephanie was stiff due to her lack of practice (as she became overconfident about competing against Robbie), and he told that to the ballerina and wanted to give her some cake, but the Ballerina mischievously tripped him, making him to fall to the floor, to which she quietly smiles at his fall.
Once at the competition, the ballerina arrived at the stage when the mayor called Robbie to compete, much to the surprise of everyone present who wondered who she was, to which Robbie replied her name was "Rottenella" and winded her up to start to compete, to which Rottenella started dancing ballet before giving an amazing dancing performance, impressing everyone, including Stephanie.
After finishing her dance, Rottenella's wind up key stopped, leaving her inert, but Robbie picked her up and demanded the trophy from the mayor, but he pointed that Stephanie hasn't competed yet, to which Robbie leaves with Rottenella, intending to pick the trophy up after Stephanie's dance. However, Stephanie despite feeling down by Rottenella's performance, is encouraged by Sportacus to try hers and she does, winning the dance competition and the trophy, much to Robbie's anger, who goes back to his hideout with Rottenella and reverts her back to her normal size off-screen and throws away her music box in anger, accidentally activating the size-changing machine he's sitting on and shrinking Robbie to the size of a wind-up doll.
