~ Rowboatics Corp's message in the transmission teaser. |
Rowboatics Corporation, better known as simply Rowboatics Corp, are the overarching antagonists of the Five Nights at Candy's game series.
Rowboatics is a corporation that specialises in robotics, primarily producing "wirelock" animatronics, such as the Cat and Rat. They reportedly went bankrupt and folded following multiple accidents in their factories, most notably one that resulted in the Candy and Cindy animatronics being possessed. However, as seen in promotional material for Five Nights at Candy's 4, they presumably returned.
Biography[]
Rowboatics Corp and its associated factory opened in 1962, with their first animatronic creations being The Rat, The Cat, and Vinnie for the Rat & Cat Theater, though they would be returned to the factory after the theater's closing. Over the next few years, Rowboatics would produce other wire-controlled animatronics, primarily for CTC Entertainment, Inc.
In later years, Rowboatics would come under fire for its negligence over workplace hazards in its factory and how it caused multiple incidents, particularly a notorious tragedy where two twins were mysteriously killed in the factory. This event would ultimately be revealed to be caused by The Rat, having ordered The Cat to kill the twins and convert them into the Candy the Cat and Cindy the Cat animatronics. Following this, the factory was closed down, and Rowboatics would reportedly go bankrupt.
During the events of Five Nights at Candy's 2, schoolgirl Marylin Schmidt, the daughter of the Rat's archenemy Mary Schmidt, stays six nights at the abandoned factory after losing a bet with her classmates, where she confronts the abandoned animatronics kept in the factory. At the end of the sixth night, probably Marylin burns down the factory, destroying all the animatronics trapped there.
Trivia[]
- Rowboatics Corp's name is a portmanteau of the words "robotics" and "row-boat".
- Rowboatics Corp is obviously inspired by Fazbear Entertainment.
