Roy Rothman was the main antagonist of the Season One episode "Zero" of the WB TV series Smallville.
He was the brother of Amanda Rothman who sought out vengeance against Lex Luthor when she committed suicide.
He was portrayed by Eric Breker.

Early life[]
Roy and Amanda had a very close relationship because she was the only one to visit him when he was imprisoned in Central City. While Roy was in prison, Amanda went with Lex Luthor as his escort to Club Zero in Metropolis. There, she discovered that her fiancé Jude Royce was there as well, with other women.
She broke it off with Jude, and when he tried to kill Lex for ruining their relationship, she shot him. To protect Amanda, Lex covered the truth up and told the authorities that his bodyguard Max Kasich killed Royce.
She was then told never to speak to Lex again, causing her to commit suicide. Learning his beloved sister died, Roy vowed vengeance and targeted Lex as the source of his sister's misery. Plotting his revenge, Roy met a stranger who looked exactly like Jude in a diner and embarked on an intricate plan to ruin Lex's life.
Season One[]
Coming to Smallville, Roy had the imposter pose as Jude Royce, stalk and harass Lex's former bodyguard Max for the truth about Amanda's death that night at Club Zero. While Roy posed as a contractor working on renovating the Talon and argued with Lana Lang about the plumbing. Max tried to speak to Lex about Jude Royce but Lex wanted no part of it as it was in the past. Lex gave Max his penthouse keys and told him to wait there for him.
Not getting the answers he wanted, Roy killed Max and cut off his hand placing it in a gift box to intimidate him. Clark Kent, Lana and Lex arrived at the Talon, to meet the contractor (Roy) but they found him on the floor unconscious. They rouse him and he states that someone knocked him over the head from behind. They saw the box on the table with Lex's name on it and inside was Max Kasich's hand. Next he had Jude Royce poison Jonathan Kent's herd with chemicals stolen from LuthorCorp. Finally, Roy had the imposter abduct Lex and tortured him at the former site of Club Zero.
At the abandoned Club Zero, Jude was once again about to shoot Lex when Roy Rothman shot Jude. Roy turned the lights and music on and shoots the chains holding Lex upside down. Lex crashes to the floor and recognized Roy as the contractor from the Talon, but he was actually Amanda's brother from Central City. Roy then revealed his entire plan that about a week after his sister's funeral, he walked into a restaurant in Blüdhaven and met a short order cook who looked exactly like Jude Royce. The two agreed to work together to ruin Lex's life. Lex agreed to tell Roy the truth about what really happened the night Jude was killed and said it was Amanda who shot her fiancé.
This was not the story that Roy wanted to hear and becomes furious. He then picked up Lex and puts him up against a huge fish tank. Just as he pulls the trigger, Lex twists away and jumps back over a railing. Clark walked in just then. He uses his super speed to push a couch under Lex, then runs upstairs and throws Roy against a post, rendering him unconscious. Then he runs back to the door and pretends to have just arrived. Presumably, Roy was taken into custody.
