~ Royce to V.

Simon "Royce" Randall is minor antagonist in the 2020 action rpg game Cyberpunk 2077. He is the leader of Maelstrom and a potential ally or enemy to V.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Before he became the leader of Maelstrom, Royce was a brutish thug who was more of a concern than a benefit for the gang. For this reason, Royce organized a coup and overthrew the previous leader, Brick, imprisoning him in their All Foods Factory hideout. According to Brick, Royce executed those still loyal to the former leader by forcing them through an industrial microwave, even forcing him to watch.

Cyberpunk 2077[]

During the events of the game, Dexter DeShawn ordered V and Jackie Welles to obtain a Militech infiltration bot from Royce. He himself appears during negotiations between the mercenaries and Dum Dum, threatening them and making fun of Dexter. Depending on actions chosen, V can either continue the deal with Royce or attack him, leading to his possible death and a gunfight with Maelstrom. If the former is chosen, they can either go ahead with the deal with their own money or give him a spiked credchip given to them by a Militech operative. They results of this confrontation vary, though Royce can ally with V to escape the base if they chose to betray Militech. If Royce dies, he is replaced by either Patricia or Brick, depending on whether V freed the latter from the factory.

If Royce survived, V will later encounter him whilst searching for Bes Isis. Royce will appear being interviewed by the journalist at a Maelstrom hideout, acting "patient" with her during the interview. After V's arrival, Royce ends the interview and dismisses Isis. He also fails to recognize V.

Appearance[]

Royce is a tall, muscular, 47-year-old man who is bald outside of his brown beard, an x-shaped implant where his eyes should be that allows him to hack drones and read important information during combat, a black jacket, and black trousers. If V decided to fight Maelstrom but did not execute him, Royce will don an armored exoskeleton to battle them.
