Rudamon is the main antagonist of the indie horror game Amenti. He is a powerful Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt who gained the power from a group of super advanced aliens to rule Egypt and transcend space and time.

He and his queen, Meretankhkar, are known to kill and torment intruders who dare to disturb his eternal rest along with their mummified servants.

Amenti[]

During the great drought in Egypt's second millennium, a group of highly advanced aliens came to the rescue and used their advanced terraforming technology to manipulate the weather and landscape to make Egypt become livable to the Egyptians. The Egyptians worshiped the aliens as Star Gods with many generation of Pharaoh became the emissaries of these aliens.

After Pharaoh Rudamon died, he was stated to transcend to the realm of the "star gods". It was also stated that He and his Queen, Meretankhkar, held a sacred bond with these "star gods". When Rudamon was put to rest it was said that anyone who disturbed his tomb would awaken the wrath of his spirit and the star gods that is said to bring on a curse of agony and death with the divine vengeance being swift and merciless. Though Rudamon and Meretankhkar don't seem to try to kill the player immediately, showing a more sadistic side to the royal couple. The curse had led to the deaths and disappearances of many explorers and archeologists throughout the ages and eventually in modern time, Rudamon's tomb was sealed off by the Egyptian government to prevent further incidents. As the result, entering his tomb becomes illegal.

In 1922, explorer Henry Caldwell enters Rudamon's tomb, but suffers a gruesome death, getting killed by either Rudamon, Meretankhkar, or their mummy bodyguards.

In 1979, photographer Ethan Carter, who in need of career advancement, foolishly enters the tomb and is trapped by Rudamon and Meretankhkar in a pocket dimension that seems to teleport him in different timeline. Eventually, Carter is trapped in Amenti, the dimension of the aliens who once helped the Egyptians instead of suffering like Caldwell did. It is unknown what the aliens plan to do with Carter.

Trivia[]

  • Rudamon's and Meretankhkar's method of killing intruders as seen by what they do if Ethan gets too close to either one of them, is to brutally pummel them to death with their fists. Interestingly, Rudamon requires multiple punches to kill intruders while his wife only needs one slap to kill intruders. Meretankhkar's method seem to be more brutal since those that are on the receiving ends of her blow often crying and whimpering in agony before their death, while Rudamon often puts the intruders into a headlock makes quick works on the intruders by beating them down.
  • Both him and his wife are very tall as they tower above Ethan. Especially given that Rudamon had to lean his head down slightly when he walked passed the doorframe after Ethan had grabbed the ankh from an empty tomb, though this could be because crown, however Rudamon's shoulders were close to the top of the doorframe. As Rudamon and Meretankhkar advance towards Ethan in the last sequence, we can see that Ethan is looking up at both of them even without crouching.
  • They have shown to have multiple mummies as their servants and guardians of their tombs. These mummies will attack and kill intruders when the royal couple are not around. Their methods of killing intruders is strangulation.
  • Rudamon's crown looks identical to that of Nefertiti's (The Great Royal queen of Egypts 18th dynasty)
  • It could be said that Rudamon is rather mischievous with how he decides to toy with Ethan by blowing out candles as he collects artifacts and reads inscriptions, walking about before eventually jumpscaring Ethan. What we can take from this is that Rudamon is quite the prankster.
