| ~ Two Garrison soldiers while chasing the Running Titan. |
The Running Titan is a minor antagonist from the manga and anime Attack on Titan. It was an abnormal Pure Titan that invaded Trost District after its outer gate was breached by the Colossal Titan. It ignored the soldiers and made its way to the inner gate, where a crowd of evacuating citizens were located, so it could attack as many people as possible.
Appearance[]
Pure Titan form[]
The Running Titan was very tall for a Pure Titan, being presumably 15 meters in height. Its overall bodily proportions were fairly more normal compared to other Titans. It had a noticeably dozy looking face with short black hair and dark colored eyes, while in the manga, its hair had a light color.
Personality[]
For a Pure Titan, it had a special sense of direction when it came to finding humans, similarly to the other abnormal Titans. Being capable of ignoring nearby people to set its attention to where it can eat the most humans, despite this, the Running Titan’s strategy comes more from mere instinct then intellect, as its behavior is noticeably feral and without proper thinking like with all the other Titans.
Biography[]
Past[]
This Titan used to be an Eldian person living in the nation of Marley and used to live inside an internment zone, one of the ghettos for Subjects of Ymir. They would eventually break one of the Marleyan laws, causing them to be arrested by the Public Security Authorities, who subsequently deported them to Paradis Island. The convict would then be placed on the wharf, which was built on the docks on the southern coast of the island, and forcefully transformed into a Titan. It would walk all the way north, at some point entering from the breached gate in Shiganshina District to Wall Maria.
Battle of Trost District Arc[]
This Titan is one of many to invade Trost District after its gate is breached by the Colossal Titan. It ignores the soldiers in its surrounding and starts making its way to the inner gate, as it senses that there is a higher concentration of humans gathered there. When the Titan comes close enough to the gate, it suddenly starts running towards a large crowd of remaining evacuating townsfolk and, crushing a soldier under its foot, while mindlessly ignoring the Garrison soldiers who were after it. Suddenly, Mikasa Ackerman attaches herself on its neck and slashes its nape, killing it. Its body then comes falling down just in time before any people can be killed.
War for Paradis arc[]
Years later while in her cell, Louise talks with Mikasa and brings up the moment when Mikasa killed the Running Titan. Using this memory as an example of why Louise believes that pure strength is the most important quality one can have.
