Rupac Inca Huaco, also known by his stage name of Chiquito, is the secondary antagonist of the 1948-1949 Tintin book duology The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun, as well as their 1969 animated film adaptation and their 1991 TV series adaptations, serving as the main antagonist of The Seven Crystal Balls and one of the two secondary antagonists of Prisoners of the Sun.

He is initially introduced as a knife-throwing act partner for Ramon Zarate during the events of The Seven Crystal Balls, but it's later revealed that he is a fanatically religious Quichua Indian and one of the remaining Inca descendants. He is responsible for the curse of the 7 members of the Sanders-Hardiman Expedition, as punishment for sacrilege by stealing the mummy of Rascar Capac.

Appearance[]

Rupac is a Quichua Native-American with black hair and a red bandana on his head. His outfit is depicted with a multicolored tunic at first, but during the execution, he wears a yellow tunic with a yellow ceremonial headdress on his head.

Biography[]

The Seven Crystal Balls[]

Rupac is first seen during a knife-throwing act led by Ramon Zarate (General Alcazar) in a music hall. However, behind the scenes, he curses the 7 members of the expedition by casting spells on them, having the power to torture them with nightmares of Rascar Capac, making them insane.

He later kidnaps Professor Calculus for sacrilege after he stole the bracelet of the mummy, a few days after the mummy was destroyed by a lightning ball.

Prisoners of the Sun[]

Rupac is later seen inside the Pachacamac ship, where he drugged Calculus asleep on the bed. He later confronts Tintin, revealing that since the professor committed a sacrilege by stealing the bracelet of the deceased mummy, he must die as well. He then calls for Alonzo to capture Tintin as he holds him at gun point, but Tintin uppercuts him and escapes the ship, as he shoots him with his pistol and his men chase him around the ship as they fire gunshots as well, making Haddock think that they shot Tintin to death. However, he is revealed to have successfully escaped and is still alive.

He is then seen guiding Tintin and Haddock in a room to pass the days before the sun burns them on the stake. Many days later, he orders the two to wear their ceremony outfits, much to Haddock's refusal. Rupac then tells Haddock that he is forced to wear this outfit, as it is part of the Inca law. With Haddock still refusing, he orders the Inca soliders to beat him up and forcefully making him wear the outfit. During the ceremony, he and Huascar try to burn Tintin, Haddock and Calculus for their crimes, but their plan is thwarted by a solar eclipse. Defeated, he frees the 7 explorers from the curse he placed them at the orders of the reformed Prince of the Sun, convinced by Tintin that the explorers only wanted to show the world the splendors of their civilization.
